Neither was Wizard. It was out the same year as Slade and never made No1.

In truth the Christmas no 1 has now become a non entity.

It used to be, back in the day when I was youngster (70s & 80s) an important achievement. It didn't have to be a Christmas theme as people bought records, singles, as gifts as well as for their own collections.

To achieve the top spot at Christmas sales in excess of a million or more was needed.

Now it is You Tubers, bloggers, vloggers, blaggers and cheaply made tat songs. You need less than 100,000 sales or streams now.

Hence we have, for a second consecutive year, a no-mark, nothing individual of no talent having Christmas no 1s with cover versions that implement the word 'sausage roll' into the song.

The world is done! Has the value of the contents of the average dustcart!!
