This is partially a post but mostly from a message I just sent.
I hope it helps out someone and we all have fun and stay safer xxx
The back story being, a newbie single ladie gets stood up..
(name deleted) on behalf of that dick that didn't show.. I'd like to apologise... There's so many wannabees out there, especially true around Xmas.
It fucks me right off.. As I'm one of the minority that do show up, do have profile pics and my face is on my main pic (to allow a quick decision yes or no..usually no,but I'm fine with that too)
There are a Couple of things I do to make sure I haven't been led down the garden path before I meet.
Maybe they might help.
1. Always get a face pic (select the pic), Then hold on it... You get an option to do a Google image search that pops up.. on my phone at least.. The search tells you if its out there on the Web already and where.. Very handy!
2. I speak at least once over the phone, if they won't.. It could be a bad sign.
3. Failing that a quick hello over a cam, / phone cam
4. I prefer verified people.. Its much safer
5. If someone's been on here for a long time and haven't met anyone, have no friends etc.. It could be a bad sign - not always but might be suspicious.
In other words, I don't take things at face value, not on here... I've been stood up, duped and let down many times and I'm a single guy!
God only knows how many more times its likely to happen to single ladies if they don't do their homework!!
One last bit of advice from this old codger,hope you don't mind.
If you are going to meet someone, Please please please let someone you trust know.. Who,where and when you are meeting....
