We like to use winks as a way of showing interest. It's easier than having to ignore or reply "no thanks to someone". We like things simple.
But what we don't understand is when people who have virtually nothing on their profile, and/or pics "for friends only". What's the point? What are we going to see from that? We're definitely not going to wink back or message saying "nice cryptic profile, let's meet"!

I’ve not really used them a lot and not really had many. I think single blokes use them all the time which makes them a bit redundant but a probably a good ice breaker for couples to use. |
