Females, does your age make you feel like you cant wear certain stuff? Ive seen/heard people saying things like "how can she wear stuff like that ?" These are people mostly around 20/30yrs.
Imo wear what you like, of your comfortable in your body flaunt it as much as you please
Most comments are based on what i see on social media platforms. |

Does it bollocks. I get complimented on looking young and sexy as do many women. |

Actually, whilst anyone can wear absolutely anything they want to, I feel yes there are things and never been sure why older ladies want to wear things designed for the young! |

People say "wear what ever you want" !! And sod what people think.
I wouldn't wear my "clubbing Fuck me" clothes when I'm out shopping, it's more miss doubtfire look that I go for. being a tranny granny I would look rather silly (more silly than normal) in mcdonalds in a crop top and ripped jeans and a Jojo bow. |

I agree, you wouldnt wear a mini skirt and high heels and a crop top to tesco. Any age i think you'd get looks. But i think out for meals drinks or out out is fine |

There are things I wouldn't wear in public but at home anything goes.
I think regardless of what people say an 85 year old woman would be ridiculed if she went out in a mini skirt and crop top.
I'm all for people dressing how they want though and admire Iris Apfels style.
I don't think it's about how much flesh you reveal, it's more about personal style. Although I don't think women should feel they have to cover arms, necks etc be because they show that she's older.

"I wander around fashion retail and see horrific examples of modern attire that my gran would have worn so it’s all moot really. "
This is certainly the case recently. There are some dresses currently in fashion that genuinely wouldn't look out of place in old people's homes. |

Difficult one. Women should dress for themselves but it is a compliment when they dress for me, in or out of the bedroom. I think those at the cutting edge of fashion look ridiculous and as for Boris's girlfriend.. she dresses like a granny... |

Nope.
However how other view you will differ because we have our own preconditioning as to what is acceptable or appropriate, depending on many learned or subliminal conditioning process.
It may depend also upon how old or young the individuals mind is, whom they are more comfortable being around and engaging with, how they want others to view them etc etc.

Ive learned that if I wear what I'm comfortable, I'll feel more natural and as a result more confident too.
If I feel uncomfortable in my attire, then that will come across in other ways too. |

People should be allowed to wear what’s comfortable for them, but also take into consideration the context too, as pointed out above.
It’s a social construct that women should or shouldn’t wear certain types of clothing. My sister once called me ‘mutton dressed as lamb’ when I was 40, when I was wearing a top that showed half an inch of cleavage and her husband was staring at it. Of course, that was my fault. |

Personally I don’t think this just applies to women, I think there’s something a little tragic when you see a middle aged man trying to dress like a 19 year old. Of course nobody wants to look boring but the try hard element usually doesn’t bode well.

I get what you are saying and I do find it interesting that when people dress scantily then they are horrified that people look.. |

I think you should dress for the occasion, regardless of your age. I don’t wear the same things for a night up the pub as I do to work or to a wedding etc.
We have family members in their 60s and 70s who wear skinny jeans and nice, fashionable tops etc. Times have changed and ladies don’t get their hair set once a week and pop on their twin set and pearls any more.
However, if a lady is trying too hard to look ‘sexy’ she often risks looking like a washed-up hooker from a bad film, regardless of her age. There are looks I definitely keep for playtime only.
