Because as soon as I reply "no" I just get loads of follow up messages asking for reasons, trying to change my mind, giving abuse or telling me it's my loss. If you don't get a reply then just assume they are not interested and move on. |

If a stranger says "good morning" to me I reply with a cheerful "good morning" and go about my business. I don't expect to have sex with them or they me so I feel safe to respond positively. It's different on fab . |

Check out the site FAQ's OP. It's made very clear that a non-reply is NOT considered rude and should be taken as a 'no thank you'.
You may think that the one message you have sent someone is worthy of a response but you should consider that your message is likely just one of hundreds that person has been sent that day. It's not fair to expect people to reply to every single message they get.
Those takeaway menus that get posted through your door. Did you ask for them? Do you phone them up just to tell them 'thanks' but you're really not interested?
No, I thouht not.
And lets face it, would an inbox full of 'no thanks' messages make you feel any better? I think not. |

Yes we are all here to make new friends, but only friends we choose to make.
We always reply if there is a mutual interest, if there isn't we simply don't.
In our normal lives, if we say hello to a stranger we do not have a clue what their interests or likes might be, on this site we have the benefits of a profile so it is totally different.
The mistake that we see a lot of people make on here is they make contact prior to taking the effort to reading a profile.
If you take the time to read the FAQs, no reply means no thanks.

People have normal lives to lead away from fab as well and just don’t have the time to reply to all the messages and if you do reply you will often end up with another 1 or 2 messages in response to that reply, filling your inbox even more or as some have said receiving rude and abusive messages.
It also depends what and when I am looking for something as to whether or not I might reply. |

Firstly, when confronted by hundreds of msgs, just to send back a no thanks is a massively daunting job. And don't forget whilst you are replying more msgs are arriving!
Secondly why reply if you are going to block anyway? Why block them for sending a msg?
The system in place works; no reply = no thanks! That is simple and easy to understand right?
