Lying about one's age

The ages on our profile are our real ages but we're starting to realise that a lot of people lie about theirs.
Is it the norm to do so? Should we knock a few years off?  |

I couldn't lie about my age, even though it looses us alot of meets, i am me and if people dont want me then they don't have to.. why lie just to get with people who wouldnt be with me if they knew the truth... not fair to them or me.
But if you wanna lie about it. go ahead.. your only fooling yourselves. |

When I (male half) was younger I used to lie to be older because I didn't like being young, but now I'm fine with my age, im quite open minded to meeting people of different ages, however S (female half) has quite a young mum and a 21 year old brother so she has hard and fast rules with ages. |

I love the profiles where you have a username 'Horny 24'*, the profile says he's 21, and the text says 'Im a 28 year old guy'....

Sadly, our ages are real! I wish they weren't, but what you gonna do? When you get over 50, the mail seems to dry up a bit and it does become more difficult to get meets (except males of course lol)
Really though, not worried if people tell little fibs about their age, we meet on looks first because there must be an attraction and then, if personality is nice, we would play..  |

My real age will tick over on my profile on Wednesday, but my stated age is *coughs* 39 and my mental age is about 9....when I hit 30 I started counting backwards but if I were still doing that now, I'd go under the age of consent day after tomorrow and be not far off going through puberty again, but backwards this time
So yeah, I lie (tongue in cheekly) about my age all the time, but I'm in the middle of my 5th decade and having the time of my life so it's just a number |

the reasons are usually because of their kids ages, they think i'm as immature as most people my age, or they just have rules about not meeting people under X-age. not a problem but it is a shame sometimes.. missed out on some fun looking meets because of my age... but time for that in the future i guess..

Yikes! You've just made me realise that I am guilty of exactly this. I turned 50 in December, and my profile still mentions me being 49.. (runs off to change it quick!)
Mind you, I'm sure it's not just 'male profiles' where this happens |

why lie about your age, there are lots of people who are in their seventies, who look good, and our getting meets and ejoying themselves, so what difference does it make how old you are. Have met men who were obviously much older than they said they were, and a few have admited to me they had knocked a few years off their age. |

I have never lied about my age and I don't intend to. I know I have been knocked back lots of times because of my age, but that it their loss not mine. |

i know some people here who lie about there age...it really coloured my view of them...the idea they will say anything to get a fuck isnt pleasant. |

Yeap! It is mainly men I find that lie about their age!
The young one's make themselves older and the over 40's make themselves younger, I had a meet a few years ago, where he was 2 years older than me! Looking at his profile now, it looks like by some miracle he is now younger than me....I wish I knew how the age fairy manages that trick |

I have never understood this age thing. If I find someone sexy then age isn't really anything to do with it. I do have a lower age range but that's because I find it hard sometimes to relate and chat to people who are a lot younger than myself. If you're sexy, you're sexy and that's all that counts! |

Ive met a guy from here, told me he was 29, on our 3rd meet he was talking about it havning been his birthday week before.............. and he was 25
meant id met him when he was 24.... I was not amused! |

I have lost count of the number of guys who claim to be late 30's to early 40's and then the face pic comes and it looks more like the year of birth than their age.
I am sure women must do it too, but I don't go browsing women's profiles. |

I met someone a while ago for a social and he told me he had two couples profiles on here with different women and told me what they were but the ages on all 3 were different spanning 11 years difference lol whats the point people will soon find out the truth |

It's not always the men. When I was a member previously I met a few couples who had lied about the age of the female and with either old pictures or a very good photoshop package. I just put it down to a lack of self esteem. |

Its not being dishonest im just old fashionedly coy about my age and i cud not bear displaying it on the internet. Im not even that old compared to other ppl who seem to be lying by this thread! For the record im not really 29 but if u wanna do me youll hav to put up with not knowing how old i am xxx |

It's amazing how many stay the same age every year on their profiles. Some even get younger

There are 2 things you can nothing about... Dying and getting older.
Can't see the point in being embarrassed about your age,saying you are a diff age is basically just being dishonest with yourself and other people.

lets face its some people will say anything just to get a meet .they are suddenly with in your age range or become bi or stop being being bi depending how it suits the situation lol ! however liers get found out and personally i cant abide being lied to . just shows a total lack of respect for the other person not to mention if they lie about something like age ect to get a meet what on earth else would they lie about if its happens to suit them ? so id def not fudge my age or any info as deceit and manipulation arent traits i think anyone values on here.honest all the way |

I must admit that on another site I had my true age and got no interest really, a male friend kept saying I should lie but I refused... eventually to prove him wrong (or so I thought) I changed my age to 99 so people would have to guess and I did get a lot more interest

Always had fake I.D to get into clubs when I was younger. But on here there is no point in lieing. You will always get found out. I'd rather tell the truth and meet up with somebody who wants the real me rather than who I'm pretending to be. |

Moi lie about age - never honest never really - well ok i might have once or twice to get into clubs when i was younger and then most recently to get a bus pass lol hehehe
Seriously; your quoted age/looks/shpe and size are easily "outed" once you been varified at a "meeting" which i think sorts the fakers out once and for all |
