A punjabi is someone from the Punjab which is India...
So what's the difference between a punjabi and an Indian...?
Do folk from certain parts of India not want to mix with folk from other parts of india..?
Is to call a punjabi indian like calling a welsh or scots person english deemed an insult..

The difference is that someone can be from (Indian) Punjab and be Indian but the overwhelming majority of Indians aren’t from Punjab.
Punjab traverses modern-day Pakistan and northwest India (as a result of the 1947 Partition of India) and has its own linguistic and cultural heritage. Most of what Britons identify as ‘Indian’ is in fact simply Punjabi - e.g. cuisine like tandoori.
There’s nothing insulting in it but there is a distinction.
And I’m Punjabi so hello to my fellows. |
