Need you guys help on what to do next, guess it's not a biggie, but important to me...

I met up with someone about 3 weeks ago quite last minute. Went over had some fun, everything cool. Realised when I got home I had left something at their house so sent them a message on here. They replied saying they'd get it back to me. Still all good so far.

About a week after that I sent a text seeing if I could get said item back.... no reply.

I then waited just under a week and sent a message on here asking if they'd got my text. That message has still not been read, though they've been online a fair bit since I sent it.

I then sent another text about a week ago saying I just wanted my possesions back and asking why I hadn't heard anything...

This is where the situation has been left for about another week now. Now the item isn't anything of great value in reality, but was part of a 21st present to me from my brother... and I'm quite a sentimental old sod and would like it back. I'm starting to get a bit annoyed at being blanked about it all.

What would you guys do, or what do you think I should do? Any help would be appreciated.

request it once more and if no reply go around and ask. Their response to you is not correct and as they have confirmed they have what you left then they are ilegally witholding property so the law is on your side, but as we are all adults !! give hem one more chance

Awww hun its a shitty situation Did you explain to them that it is of sentimental value to you?

Surely they shouldnt be so cruel.

No I haven't so far, guess that was going to be my next move, shouldn't be necessary though should it! and given the response so far I doubt it'll make much difference...

Guess that's what you get from last minute meets!

I fear if going round (or texting and saying you are coming round)to collect your stuff isn't an option.... all you can do is ask nicely and make clear it's not a con to get another invite.

Whether a last minute meet or not, if someone left something I'd do my bit to help them get it back... if they wanted it back that is. The pile of used condoms I usually assume to be unwanted.

Well maybe if the first line of your mail (the bit people can read without opening) says something along the lines of Im not hassling you for another meet and then carry on with why you would like you belongings back they may read it.

They may be under the self inflated opinion you want to meet them again lol.

You never know babes.

Good luck anyway and hope you get it back xxx

Would take a bit more explaining of the situation but I think it's unlikely they think that, but maybe they are keeping it to lure me into another meet?

Actually I say that in jest but maybe that's it?

Will give your suggestion a try anyways, thanks... x

Ok, so now waited till today (when I was back in leicester, in case they suddenly said they'd give it back, lol) and have sent another text explaining the item is important to me...

That was at about 2ish today, and again no reply! Getting rather annoyed now! Grrrr

any more thoughts? Guess I could continuously ring and be incredibly annoying? lol

If it was me i'd ####### ##### ##### #### ##...lol... but you're not, as for the police, they have to take it seriously and respond if you can prove the item is legally your's, or you could ask a solicitor to write them a letter which will cost you a few £ and if no reply can take court proceedings, but at least you'll get it back...

All the best to you mate...

As an ex cop pretty certain the police wouldnt be interested, its not like they stole the property, you left it at the house you played in, unless they have acknowledged they have your property, it boils down to your word against theirs, im afraid. Soz x

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

Soz to be a damp squib you could try Citizens Advice, or goto a free legal solicitor, where you get a free 30 minutes, outline your case and take it from there, good luck.

Reply privately (thread closed by moderator)

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

That might just scare them into getting your property back, a letter from a solicitor normally does it.

I think I would mail/text one last time with an address to post to, offering to pay the postage too... Explain its sentimental, but also say your avoiding having to call round for it.. as your really not after a sneaky meet.

The inference may be enough to make em just sort it quickly...

Good luck fella....

Right here's an update on this situation:

I messaged again on here, this time I got a reply telling me I had been acting like a "c**t" no less... told me they had been working away, despite the fact I know they use the blackberry phone I have been texting to access the site and they had been online several times in that period.

I ignored the jibes and asked if they'd mail me the item, to which they said they would so I mailed them my address (which I am somewhat regretting and worried about now). This was about 2 weeks ago, and of course nothing recieved in the mail!

Last week while I was away in France I recieved a text from another girl I have met from this site. They have been messaging her (and who knows who else from my verifications list) spreading lies, telling her I'm not who I say I am etc etc.... this has now caused arguments with me and her and she doesn't want to speak to me

Finding this whole state of affairs very sad and frustrating...

Just been reading this whole horrible tale, some people amaze me.

Well, if I were you I would contact them again, dont mention any of what you know about the spreading of lies etc and just say that as of yet you havent received your item through the post, you realise that they are busy so to help them out could you pop round or meet at a convenient place to get it from them, be as nice as you can whilst biting your tongue of course as these really do sound like absolute pricks of people.

wishing you good luck x

Thanks, but sadly a little late for your suggestion... I've given up on getting it back now. Just wanted to vent a bit about the situation.

I really can't believe it has been taken to this level, mind you I guess it doesn't suprise me there are some real tossers in this world, just wish they'd all leave me alone

Lol, it is a little bit...

I bet you do have things that could be treated as sentimental, just you don't look at them that way.

Anything that has been given to me as a gift I like to look after and cherish, some things are better than others granted, but it's nice to have things that remind you of other people, after all once they are gone all you have left is memories and if these things remind you of them they are invaluable. This is just the way I am

Reply privately (thread closed by moderator)

By (user no longer on site)  over a year ago

Sorry Honey but I could never give up on getting back something of mine that had sentimental value.

If it was me, they would now be being sent an email stating that having tried all other avenues open to you and as you have still not recieved your property you have no choice but to give them 5 days after which time if your property is not in your hands you will be passing their email address, addy on here, IP number of their computer and any other info you have about them including personal descriptions onto the authorities.

Tell them you have logged all slanderous mail they have sent to your contacts and friends and that your solicitor confirms that you have an excellent case to take them to court. As you yourself are not bothered about an open court case referring to your swinging status, they should be aware that you are willing and more than able to take this matter to the highest level needed to ensure the return of your property. You sincerely hope that none of this will be necessary but you will not go away until your property is returned to you.

You CANNOT let low lives like this get away with what they have done.

Good luck and a big hug

Raz

A sad story, some real shitty people about

We have had property left at our house before, once a wallet with a large sum of money in it, always made it our priority to get it back to the owner though, no matter what it is, surly thats only fair though?

"

Definately a shitty situation to be in, but I doubt that Admin will be able to help. It's an issue external to the site so I cannot see where they would be able to step in.

Hope you get your stuff back though. I'm the same with stuff like that.

A few years ago, my dad spliced me a loop into some thick rope which in turn was attached to a ball which I would throw for the dog to catch. One day the ball and rope parted company, the ball going one way and the rope ending up high in a clump of trees from which there was no way to retrieve it. I was gutted at that happenening, simply because my Dad made it for me just as he was starting to suffer badly with Alzheimers disease. I recall how he struggled to remember how to do the splice, but how happy with himself he was after he managed to get it right and complete the job.

Every day after that, when I walked the dog, I looked for the rope and one day, about 3 months later, after the leaves had fallen, there it was lying on the ground !

How good the feeling was when I found that old piece of rope. Yes all it was to anybody else was a worthless old peice of blue nylon rope with a loop in the end, but to me it was a reminder of probably the last thing that my Dad was able to do for me before the Alheimers disease took over his body and eventually took his life

so I really hope you get back whatever it is you have lost. No matter how insignificant it is to someone else, it is obviously of great importance to you and for someone to withold it, quite frankly is a shameful and dispicable act.
