Just wondering what people's rules are on people cancelling/no show?
I have a 2 strike rule, I mean we all have stuff come up last minute occassionally, but how many chances to you give? Am I too harsh? |

No I just make descisions base on a case by case basis, the information given, notice given and gut instinct. As a single parent I know life doesn't always go to plan, it's the same for others. I think you get a feel for who is genuine or not. |

I also employ the 2 strike rule as a general rule, but I do also go with my gut.
Sometimes I am pretty sure someone is a timewaster, but I will allow them the one chance to prove me wrong... not many have.
Other times when I am pretty sure someone is completely genuine they might get a 3rd chance. |

"Yea this is pretty much what I go by, I sometimes do wonder if I'm being harsh, but you get so much of it, I simply can't be assed sometimes "
I get it. But ultimately just do what you feel. I don’t think it’s harsh. The fact you give 2 strikes. Many people don’t |

Case by case basis, though I gave had a spell the past two weeks where been strung along several times so in the end told them I'm out.
Real life does intrude, I've had to cancel or rearrange, but real life doesn't usually intrude every time.
As to your 2 strike rule, if it works for you go with it. I don't think it's harsh. |

I have a woman who has now cancelled on me twice for a play date, but we’ve met twice for socials, and chat regularly through messenger service, so I know the reasons she’s cancelled we’re unavoidable. It does mean however, that when we do finally get in a bed, there’s going to be fireworks! |

I have had to cancel due to "real" life unexpectedly getting in the way, including waking up in the morning with a bad cold, having felt fine the evening before.
But I always make contact ASAP to warn of my non arrival. Unless a huge emergency has occurred, there is little excuse not to let the other party know you will not be attending.
If I were on the receiving end and no advance notice of cancellation given, when it the excuse finally came, it would have to be good to get another chance! |

A bit of courtesy goes a long way for me 1 strike if a no show and no attempt to give an excuse. 2 strikes if they notify me that they aren't going to make it |

if we are told before hand then no problem ...if they don't turn up and say nothing then blocked ..but we seem to have cut right down on the no shows in the last couple of years do to they way we pick our meets the more spontaneous the more they turn up its when you stat planning you get the messer's |

If they let us know beforehand then we'll give a second chance. Those that just don't turn up and don't even get in touch get the next day to apologize before getting blocked.
Things happening and getting in the way, we can understand. Plain rudeness we can't.

One strike from us, if they don't turn up for a social, then they're hardly likely to turn up at a hotel for the main event. It's worked for us when we've ventured into Fab world, had several let downs, even after a social, hotel booked etc, then no show from the third party. so one strike mighty appear harsh, but it's our way. |

Its not the frequency its more the reasons and how genuine they are. If someone cancelled once though I would point out I am not looking for another cancellation. |

If I get no message letting me know they can't make it then no more chances if there is very good reason then I give one more chance op you are not too harsh |

Same here but I call it the ‘Goldfinger adage’
First is happenstance, twice is coincidence, three times is enemy action - if you’ve ever read the book, you’ll see the connection. |

Depends on if we have met them before and what the reason is. Obviously we are more lenient with those we know for other we accept that sometimes things do happen so we will give them the benefit of the doubt as usually we have established that they are genuine before arranging to meet in the first place. |

Given how difficult it is for guys to get meets on here, I'm amazed anyone would not turn up once they had. If I was stood up w/no explanation before hand I wouldn't give another chance. |
