Not for me
The only time mine looked like they'd been tied up, was when I was breast feeding & they'd gone more than 6hrs without a feed!! It's can't be comfortable |

It’s fun few tutorials on rope stuff online and cheapish ropes on that auction site thingy in different colours, maybe get some safety scissors just in case too.
As I say not to tight just tight enough to hold them

Actually I don't think it is Shibari, it is more a Western Bondage practice than an Asian Bondage practice.
Some women love it, usually those whose breasts hang low like them held horizontally. My understanding is that it is not painful it just has a red and swollen look ( I am happy to be corrected by people who have had it done to them).
As someone has said they breasts don't have to be tied tightly, but I understand that it works better if tied tightly.
Personally I dont do breast ties for two reasons. Firstly, I prefer rope bras, or the effect on the breasts of a box tie or simple chest harness. Secondly, unless the woman requests a breast tie, I think riggers who automatically suggest breast ties, fall into the same category as riggers who automatically put women in crotch ties, and that is randy chancers.

They bind breasts in shibari. That’s the only rope tying I find beautiful. I had my legs bound together and went up around each breast and around the neck. He was new to it, i was completely exposed but the rope tying looked good. |

Shibari can be beautiful, a few of my friends practice it, but they are trained and know what they’re doing. For them it’s also an art form, and causing the breasts to go purple etc isn’t the aim.
Personally, shibari appeals, but that’s aesthetically for photos, not sexually and not binding to the point of pain, discolouration etc. It’s obviously all subjective. What I like others see as abuse, although I’m never abused and it’s symbiotic.
Never seen images of the tight binding on any woman with very small breasts though, so does size play a factor in how effective it is? Not being ignorant, just curious about the logistics. Also, as an ex nurse I would not advocate anyone doing anything that has the potential to have a tourniquet effect on anyone if they don’t know what they’re doing, especially on soft tissue, such as breast tissue. Like with anything of a bdsm nature, if you don’t know what you’re doing, don’t do it!
Any ladies/couples into it, who could explain more? xx

I love Asian rope Japanese/Chinese rope and to the extent of being boring interested in it. I am also interested in Western rope bondage. I have set out some thoughts below. I will not deal with it, other than to say Western rope bondage in my view is more about restraint and showy rope I.e. tie the bottom and do stuff to the bottom (see the Knotty Boys books and various American porn websites).
There are arguments over the distinction between the word "shibari" which I have read in books as being the Japanese word for tying and the word "kinbaku" which I have read in books means "tight binding".
Shibari tends to be used these days for the aesthetically pleasing but complicated rope. But it generally does nothing for the bottom apart from being in a pretty picture.
Kinbaku tends to be used for the connective rope with the heavier bdsm overtones. Kinbaku is about how you apply the rope and how you connect with the bottom using the rope as the medium of connection and conversation. Kinbaku can look showy but every application of the rope on the body has purpose and is not done for effect.
As with all kink there is no right or wrong way to do rope bondage (apart from relatively safely to your skill and keeping in mind anatomy).
In Japanese rope you have various styles ranging from the sexual style of Yukimara to the t@rture style of Naka Akira and his semenawa and a whole range in between. Not to forget the brilliance and weirdness of Kinoko.
There are excellent, British American, German, Spannish, Russian, French and American riggers. I would urge people to check out these riggers and their styles and get beyond titty ties being Shibari. However I appreciate this us Fab and not FL.

I would think that it’s pretty dangerous to tie that tight - trauma to the breast tissue can have repercussions I think |

Thank you and believe that. In my book few things beat watching a great rope scene.
It is also good to see different riggers' take on doing rope. I do urge people to watch the performance videos to see that rope is not static.
