We haven’t missed one in years. Looks like this could be our first..hubby has been in hospital a week Ona lead up to an operation which is needed before the start of chemo. He’s insistant we will be there as usual, but personally I can’t see it |

While i dont know you two i have many friends in the Goth Community and have been welcomed as a "Not not a Goth". So i wish your Husband all the best and hope things go well for him. It must be a very scarry time for you both. |

While i dont know you two i have many friends in the Goth Community and have been welcomed as a "Not not a Goth". So i wish your Husband all the best and hope things go well for him. It must be a very scarry time for you both. "
He hasn’t stopped taking the piss since he found out ...recent t shirt purchases include “hug me, I’m radioactive”

Yep I'll be there, but I thought it was the first weekend in November? Or is it the two split ones again ... WGW and Tomorrow's Ghost the weekend after?? |

Hi Everyone. Looking forward to our first time to Whitby. Not long now. If anyone is interested we have a spare double hotel room due to our friends dropping out. It's for the Friday to Monday nights at the Resolution Hotel, king size suite. Message us if you are interested. Richard and Sue xx |

most of the bands, are, actually on the following weekend at the, the tomorrow's ghosts event and not the original goth weekend. This event has now been split right down the middle. Having the two events so close to each other is poor planning

don't think they are merging next year as, the local press have said whitby will have, 4 gothic events next year
Tomorrow's ghosts organisers have, already said they plan to push forward with its, 2020 schedule |

Glastonbury Festival yet no hippies just townies listing to fucking Kane West.
Whitby Goth Weekend yet no actual Goths there. Fancy dressers and fantasits.
No wonder festivals no longer reflect thier supposed culture. |

Most "Goths" go to Germany as WGW has been overrun with people who wear black for the weekend. Shame it was a good musical festival once. |

So many reasons we don't go to the Goth weekends anymore...
On the plus side however, we do now go to the Whitby steampunk weekends - where there probably as many Goths as at the Goth weekends - and they're a lot of fun!
No politics, nobody being judged on what they're wearing/whether they have tickets for the evening events, just lots of nice people having a great time (and quite a few swingers too!) |

It was brilliant until 2008. We went for the music and clubs and been in a lovely old town. Hate people in my in my face taking my picture and thinking I'm in a 'costume' and they understand me. Most of the people who go now are the moronic types I went there to get away from!
Joe Public loves to jump in and join in and fuck it all up though.
No offense but never saw Steampunk as anything related to Goth. Go to a regular Goth club, you won't see a Steampunk yet at Whitby it's full of them. It's like they need to hold onto the tails of Goths because they don't have the balls to dress up randomly elsewhere.
Goth was about being who you are, wearing what you wanted without giving a shit what people said. Many friends got attacked for this and having tattoos 20 years ago. I bet thier attackers have tattoos now.
As for Steampunk, seems a culture more reserved to going in groups to museums and having tea parties (which is fine) I just don't see why they need to take over a Goth event to do this.
Seems now a lot of swingers here go there to leer at the young models prominarding in thier weekend Gothic cosplay costume. |
