There and to the left a bit |
I was in a car park last weekend where the spaces were mahoosive like almost double the width of the car, and they weren't parent with child or disabled bays either.
That said I do think that was not the norm, all too often these days spaces seem to need a shoe horn both to get into and then get you out of the car - although I do wonder whether this is because cars have generally got bigger - the rise of 4x4s and SUVs etc must have had an impact to an extent |

Some salient facts;
There are no “production” cars made exclusively for the UK market yet the UK minimum car park width as required for planning etc is 1/2 metre less than the UK
The UK has 60% more disabled spaces than Europe
Read into that what u will |

Somewhere I was working until recently had really tiny parking spaces. Luckily I have a really small car. The best thing about it is there was a space next to a storage container that was very often free as the container went right up to the line. I could park my tint car right up to the container and still have plenty of room to get out! |

Standard car parking spaces are 4.8m long by 2.4m wide and they haven't changed from my experiences at work. Though I have noticed a local sainsbury's using 2 lines to separate each space, making more room between cars.
Jesus, and I wonder why I don't get many meets! |
