I mean the appeal of a gloryhole is that you don't know who is on the other side, but I'm assuming what you mean here is a regular small hole you pole your penis through and you would question the potential gender of the person on the other side.

They are amazing! Only one problem though: if you go on a night with single guys then they tend to creep into the male side of the glory hole and let's just say.... do the creep.

Following up on Jenny G’s excellent description.
We’ve used the one in Purple Mamba a couple of times. It’s got stirrup loops rather than ankle cuffs, which is more comfortable for Ms H.
Ironically we tend to use them on the quieter nights, either for our own fun or so it’s easier to control who’s on the outside. It’s such a turn on swapping between the woman’s side and the outside, to see who is doing what. Especially since Ms H still doesn’t who know has been pleasuring her 
If you are considering it, always have a spotter (my job), just to make sure it’s what’s been agreed. In our case, it’s always condom or no play.
