It's good to have the same tattoo - he and a previous girlfriend went and had the same tattoo, a tribal. She had it on her shoulder blade and him on his upper arm. Something more personal to you both would be better, especially if its a sexy tattoo. Would be interested to hear other peoples' ideas.

Great idea if you stay together forever however a terrible one if you split up.

My (her) advice is to go an have a consultation with a tattoo artist.

Also give consideration to the design, you mention the design matching but what may look good on a male may not look good on a female or vice versa. Placement of ink is vital for each individual as each persons body and muscles are slightly different to others. Therefore what may look good on her hip and thigh may not suit him.

If you want ink that links you both then complimentary designs are something you can discuss with your tattoo artist. Each can be tailored to suit the person but a commonality with your partner. This would also work out better if ever the relationship failed, at least you aren't wearing identical ink.

Hope this helps, my aim is never to put people off but to give honest opinion.

If you’ve got to really think about what kind of tattoo you want rather than have an idea already, maybe you should ask if you really need it.

They don’t wash off if you change your mind.

And also this.

I've never really understood how someone can want a tattoo but not know what they want. It's like saying you really want to get into politics and then asking people what party you should support...

Well, evidently. It's quite a common refusal as is considered unlucky.

"Hi my partner and I are looking for ideas for a tattoo we can both have and also best body place to have it?"

Without being romantic about this but get a tattoo that means something to you. I see many tattoos that all look the same because people lack their own imagination. There are a few studios who present folios of their work but won’t replicate them. You’ll feel much better not having that tribal tattoo!
