"Has anyone saw the film irreversible ? It has the most shocking rape scene in it,very disturbing.what films or t.v. has shocked you ?"
As yet nothing... To be honest most shocking thing I've seen was a training tool in university... We were shown the interview of a child whose father had done the most awful things. I had to walk out..

What i find shocking is the attitude us humans have towards other species, how we are willing to hunt and kill animals to the point of extinction, chop down their homes, kill them for skins, medicines, sell for experimenting on, prison in zoos, force them to entertain for us without giving even a second thought to the effect its having on these poor animal

"The worse book I read was...
Marabou Stork Nightmares! Irvine Welsh.."
I stopped reading this, It wasn't the scene so much as Welsh coming across as a misogynistic fuckhead... the scene was too well thought through for my liking put me right off him. |

I feel exactly the same way.
I can't get my head round how cold some humans can be... I'll expand that by saying I can't understand civil war.... I don't understand any war |

I seem to remember watching a film in the cinema in my late teens that really upset me where a blonde woman was gang raped by a group of men who lined up whie she lay on an old car seat?! The images stuck with me more than the film title though it would seem |

funnily enough i was thinking about this earlier on..dark perceptions of the Welsh. The author Phil Rickman was on me mind, and his 'Merrily Watkins' series |

I am often shocked by the foolish way people misrepresent Darwin's thoughts on the survival of the fittest, and prove in the process that they haven't got a fucking clue what he was on about... |

Nil by mouth..the scene were Ray Winston beats up and stamps on his wife..Kathy Burke.
Yeh ok 'its only acting'
But that scene sent shivers down my spine..horrible..I wouldnt watch it again.
Another one, though not in a film..The Boys From The Blackstuff..not 'sickening' as such..but the scene when social services take Yossers kids off him...that always me me cry..I hate it..and another one I would avoid watching. |

One of the most disturbing films I've seen is Hostel. Absolutely gruesume ... makes me wonder what kind of mind can come up with something like that!
But I agree with Bendaroos - The Enity freaked me out too cos its based on a true story and that made it more scary for me. |

Last Exit to Brooklyn. The book was subject to an obscenity trial here and was banned elsewhere |

Just finished watching Trainspotting and then read this forum. For me, the scene where they discover their forgotten baby.
Another one recently, Watchmen, the scene of the dogs fighting over the child's remains after the 'man' had finished with her. You don't see alot here, but it's the thought that shocked me.
I can watch the most gruesome film and not be affected, as soon as it involves children then that's it i get emotional.
For me, i am affected most by psychological scenes, those that you can not see but listen to or imagine.

I thought Irreversible was fantastic in the original way it was shot with everything happening in reverse. The fire extinguisher scene with the weird music almost made me hurl. The rape scene was incredibly graphic.
I'd probably say that the most obscene films i have seen are:
August underground
August underground mordum
Men behind the sun
30 days of sodom

The scene in Mona lisa where she is buggered against the mirror.Without words the look in her face conveys the total lack of self worth, degredation ,i had to stop watching the film and have never been able to watch it again.
Great acting but so disturbing just thinking about it stirs my emotions. |

God that book title takes me back, that book did shock me, though I did struggle with the New York dialect.
Hostel shocked me too, I remember going on holiday not long after watching it and when handing in our passports to check into the hotel wondering whether they'd take a copy and sell us off to the highest bidder for torture |

Haven't seen this film for years. Watching it stirs up such a powerfully sickening feeling.
The scene in American history X where Ed Norton forces the driveby youth to open his mouth on the kerb at gun point before stamping on the back of his head is brutal. |

Yeah, this is one brutal film. Really shocked me.

Another film that is visually shocking is "I Spit On Your Grave", the very beginning where the bunch of men subject that woman to a horrific rape in the woods and leave her half dead. That went on for far too long and was utterly shocking. |
