Is it me or has Fabs become a place where guys pretend to be girls.
On MSN, on Email : even had one try to pretend on the phone this week...
What's happened to FABS over the past few years, it use to be a site full of genuine people but now it's full of timewasters and idiots.
No wonder couples hate single guys
No wonder single guys get frustrated.
If anyone has any recommendations, drop me a line

Personally have never chatted to anyone who wasn't genuine but then if they don't meet the criteria on my profile I don't chat in the first place, sticking to your standards has always worked for me |

I expect FAB membership is multiplying rapidly. It stands to reason that there will be more 'frauds' out there.
Personally I don't get involved with weirdos so don't notice any influx.
Perhaps being more focussed on what it is you are looking for as opposed to the 'fish in the barrell' method of looking might help you decide who to contact and who to reply to. |

I find keeping my profile quite locked down as in who can message me helps, if ur not a site supporter u can't message me! I know the costs r not a lot very reasonable in fact but saying that piss takers generally don't want to pay for wasting ur time. I have been back and fore as a fab member for some time and never been let down or had my time wasted

Remove boredom from their lives and they will stop it's quite a well known phenomenon for guys to pretend to be girls on meets in some parts of the world, just make sure you can spot them at that stage and you are doing OK

To the OP, you will always get fakes and pretenders in all shapes and fashions, and this is on (going on a limb here) all sites.
Some will try to argue being a free site means there are fakes here - not true. One of the sites I am on charges $180 a year (dollars) and I was still being emailed by fakes and pretenders (one had the gaul to actually want me to come see her in Philipines... year right!)
The way I see it, seeing as I cannot stop the fakes and pretenders (be they guys, girls or couples) all I can do is be vigilant and not taken for a ride.
Pick carefully, [ick wisely... and have fun! 
PS: If she's giving you a million and one reasons why she can't meet to every solution you propose, then she does not want to. Simples! |

Weve also noticed this......we don't know who's who, who's real,who's fake etc - Weve now stopped adding those whom have no green flag & green tick etc! Allways seem to get messages off single guys "nice pics wanna meet" i can't believe they have just scrolled to the bottom, and not read the profile at the top! (clearly states were not looking for single men)don't mind chatting to them and being friendly |

People spam...reading the profile would be too much hassel. Either block single men or just delete and move on. Its the drawback of all sites but in the great scheme of things worse happens at sea |

Unless you report these profiles, Admin can't do anything. Please hit REPORT on the profiles in question and Admin will review. We don't do ANY pro-active review of profiles, we rely on members to report issues to us and use the verification flags which we provide (verified by others, photo-verified) wisely.

I agree... something should change.... maybe it is the way YOU go about choosing the people, or doing your due diligence.....
see... easy to blame the site... not so easy to look in the mirror and accept that you are part of the problem...
blameless.. completely... victim.... innocent
the site provides you with the tools to make it work.... in the end it is still up to you...
if something isn't working.... change it!!! if you would do that in the rest of real life.. why not do it here!!!

To be honest - can't comment on whether there's more or less than ever!
But in general I have to say they're easy to spot and avoid! And block. And if you're 100% sure and think it's worth it report.
Conversely i'd have to say i've seen a lot more genuine people on site recently!

the annoying thing is that the OP made the same complaint about 2 months ago.... and again he blamed everything but himself.... which again is an easy target....
but last time he called the single guys who were here "idiots".......
see, if the "fakedar" isn't working... thats isn't really the fault of the site...
if something seems to good to be true.. it normally is......
and like i said.. if something isn't working... change it!!!
there are guys out there who have gotten the site to work for them.. and good on em.... just because it isn't working for you, it doesn't make it a general issue... it makes it a "you" issue....
again.. playing "victim" is easy.... it is making changes that shows fortitude... |

If it was made compulsary to be cam verified by fab before being allowed to become a member (esp for females), this would stop pretty much all the guys pretending to be girls and guys with fake/10 year old pics. Granted, it would mean alot more work for fab, but would mean users wasting alot less time |

Yep...
its always worth a laugh the amount of 'single women'  who join up between 8 and 12 on a Saturday night!...
We were caught out by the weirdos once or twice in the early days...but it pays to take your time to suss someone out first..if they are genuine they will be worth the wait..
Its amazing how many 'single fems'
hit on you late at night with ...hi hun, fancy some cam fun of msn hun..mines broke at the moment though' ..but when I go into the chat rooms as a genuine single female..no one apart from single guys ever want to know..  ...
I often think a lot of these so called 'couples' who want to chat to a single fem are fakers too...
Still, the block button comes into play and I move on..no point in getting stressed about it. |

Probably easier just to look at the verifications already on the site i.e. if you think fakes are a problem, only contact verified + pv photos or whatever.

I've been on here a couple of years now and I've found that there have always been many timewasters and idiots on here. Best to insist on chatting and seeing on Cam on Msn or similar before comtemplating a meet |

Have to agree it gets a bit monotonous hearing the same advice when clearly no one goes out looking for hassle - but likewise I don't see the point of whinging about timewasters either, it's one of the pitfalls on here |

verification does help. We have on our profile verifications and check peoples we are thinking of meeting to see if others have said they are gen. We only bother with profiles that have pics and we also speak on phone asap.
Couples have never let us down or been bogus. Sinlge blokes are unreliable, they often bottle out when offered the real deal. This is a prob common to the scene and on other sites too sadly. |

see we have never been let down by a single guy...whereas dont really bother sorting anything with couples unless we have met socially first...
My pet theory is that ppl tend to expect single guys to be willing to drop everything and dont put the due diligence in they would with fems and couples. |

i never at any point said it was all their fault... what I said is that they are part of the issue.....
so if you are in no part to blame in the selection process... then don't complain as you aren't going to learn from your blameless process...

out there in the "real world" if something isn't working for you... and you can change that.... you would!!! why wouldn't you do exactly the same thing here....

The thing is... it is far easier to say "oh there are so many fakes" when things don't work out the way people want.
If they actually know a profile is fake... report it.
But they don't know in most cases... they guess because they didn't get what they wanted... whether that be the other person stopped chatting, wouldn't send something to wank over, don't want to meet and so on.
All thread like this do is encourage more twats to have a go, as it makes it sound like everyone esle is doing it so why not have a go for a laugh. |

We get a few obvious fakes.just play them at their own game.ask for a photo with ur name on it.
Any UN veri'd we just block.or any obvious copy and paste messages we block.
if people have Been on more than a few weeks without a photo veri,I'd put a tenner on it been fake. |

Everybody we have contacted in our age range have had a webcam and have been more than happy, infact pretty keen to verify both parties before the chatting goes any further.
I can't remember the last time i seen a laptop for sale without a built-in cam.... failing that they start as little as £5 in superstores.
So from our experience people who genuinely want to meet, have cam. |

Granted cams aren't mandatory nor would we ever expect them to be.
But if your claiming to be between 18 and 30 for an example then there is no reason why you would not own a webcam.
surely it gives you better chance of being taken seriously if your willing to pop on the cam when your a new UNVERIFIED member who has no friends in this lifestyle to start you of and verify you.
Personally we laugh at the fakes, we find most of them are real easy to spot.
Whats more annoying are couples that message you without reading your profile or just aim it at me (Miss) like its a single profile... Miss x

Member veris carry far more weight.
We don't reply to photo veri only.
Anyone can do one for a friend.
I can't imagine many people sending face pics to non member veri Females.
You can tell some of the profiles are written by men.
