Ok all you lovely females out there.

Are you or have you been through menopause whilst swinging?

My wife is starting her menopause now. We have chatted about everything dealing with this.

Any advice for us males?

Hot sweats and forgetfulness (thank god for HRT!). Certainly not dried me up or diminished my sex drive

Don't let the doctors fob her off.

Don't acceot that they are right as 99% have no clue and will give her anti depressants just to get her out of their hair.

It's a minefield and patience is the key.

I went through menopause relatively young. I got very confused about how I felt about sex and the kind of sex I wanted and even lost interest at all for a while.

Then I came out the other side of it and my libido just went up up up. Now I have more sexually confidence than ever and more sex than ever.

Hang in there!

Didn't reduce my sex drive...some dryness to labia but not internal. Hot sweats means I feel uncomfortable and not sexy. But after a shower I am raring to go.

Be guided my your lady and what she wants. Lots of reassurance and affection is definitely required.

I've really had a hard time with menopause. Where to start..... I've struggled for a few years. Wait gain really bad, constant mood swing, laughing one minute crying the next. The hot sweats have been the worst for me. Everywhere I go the sweat pours down my face even if it's cold. Really put me off meeting and going clubs as I'd look good one minute the next I'd look hideous. Nights I'm constantly changing my bedding it's that bad. I sympathise with anyone going through it

Going through it now. No symptoms. There were a few hot flushes about a year ago but none at the moment.

Yes, find out how it's affecting your partner individually and deal with that. Don't assume that all the symptoms that other women get will automatically happen to her. Advise her to ask at your surgery if there's a doctor who has an interest in women's health and see them if she has problems. If she experiences vaginal dryness find a lube that suits and use it.

Get a desk fan and put it on during sex, helps massively!

Does sex drive come back afterwards or is it a permanent feature?

"Does sex drive come back afterwards or is it a permanent feature? "

It depends on the individual and the reasons for loss of desire.

Pain, dryness etc probably won't come back not unless the causes are addressed.

Hormonal, possibly will come back

Insecurity due to body changes, possibly will come back once the woman comes to terms with it.

Relationship issues, will come back if sorted.

What some men forget is that they change too and that can have an impact. So often I see guys complaining that their wives have lost interest in sex and they've let themselves go massively. Of course this doesn't apply to anyone on fab.

Dryness: as I am tiny, I always need lube. Maybe occasionally dry up in the process, but how long do you rub the same wet thing without it getting a bit dry?

I think there's a tendency to think that menopause is the same for all women. That's why I say treat the individual symptoms.

I've been incredibly lucky so treating me for a whole range of symptoms would have been a waste of time

Menopause is different for each woman. Once Alexis had overcome the hot flushes she has experience no discernable difference in sex drive or anything else.

I’m apparently peri-meni just now but neither up nor down. I *think* it may be due to the fact my doctor advised that I get another contraceptive implant fitted when she removed the last one at expiry around a year ago. I seem to be getting away with all the usual hormonal symptoms - no hot flushes or mood swings (although I’ve never really been affected by PMT, always been too laid back for my own good!). My only issue has been pretty rapid weight gain which I am now in the process of dealing with through diet and exercise which is understandably boosting my confidence more than anything. Maybe worth investigating the implant before your wife goes down the HRT route? There’s also a website my doctor recommended that’s definitely worth a look at - www.menopausematters.co.uk. Some great advice and information there. Good luck!!

I'm always running hot, windows open all year round, sex drive went through the roof, not having periods helped me to enjoy sex more.

Middle age itself affects me more..creaky joints, afternoon naps, but luckily meno has been fairly straightforward x

Just talk to her, see how she feels, I guess no two days are the same x

What has bothered me the most was losing some of my hair, not as in bald patches but just getting finer and finer and shorter. That’s what has upset me the most

You’re not alone, it’s one of Mrs M’s symptoms too.
