If you want go dark wings but make a mess with liquid use eyeshadow only and small hard brush and micropore tape. Go for blended look with dark shadow to black shadow for Smokey look on the outer part of the eye, enhance it using white and pale colours in the inner corner of the eye
Mix it up try different shadow blends but for sharper look use small hard brushes instead of the fluffier longer softer brushes which you'd use for blending. Then use cotton buds and makeup wipes to make minor corrections without redoing all your eye makeup.
Practice and practice it makes perfect unless like me always happen to blink |

Wings are a bitch... you need to pratice from the age of 10!!! By the time your 20 you will have them on point.
If your blind, like mio, no chance! Stab yer self in the eyes more than flick ![](/icons/s/2/eh.gif) |

"The eyeshadow tip I’m gonna try thanks
Yeh it’s so hard to do I wanna do a cut crease too your right practice and practice xx"
I cannot do wings to save my life so I use tape and blend dark and black eyeshadows out to make a sort of wing shape, seems to work for me and I've had a few compliments on it when I do quite a dramatic 'wing' |

It looks like you have hooded eyes from your photos. My eyes are slightly hooded and it makes winged eyeliner a very difficult task.
Have a look at winged liner for hooded eyes tutorials, they might help you out some more. I personally find a wing liner brush (I love ZOEVA brushes) and a deep jet black eyeliner gel is the best thing to do it with. But it can be a very difficult task because I don't have much eyelid space to work with.

This is an excellent point, it can be pretty much impossible with very hooded eyes. I'd definitely try doing it more with eyeshadow, it's a much easier way of getting the same effect |

I've added a pic with the eyeshadow wings.
I used micropore tape for the sharp line and doesn't take the rest of the makeup off. Black eyeshadow and I put it under the outer corner of the eye too not under all the water line.

Exactly this! If you have hooded eyelids it’s really hard (I’ve given up). |

Use the hinge of your tweezers.
Put liquid eye liner on the hinge part and press down at the corner of your eye, it will leave a template then fill in.
Will be even on both sides too xx |

I have slightly hooded eyes and find liquid wings near on impossible, I now just use eyeshadow, it's not as sharp but you can't tell from a distance
Practice practice and practice some more. I've tried templates, tape liquid, pencil. Some days I can do it some I can't.
Like some have said, finding the right wing shape, length and direction for your eye shape is key, and wether your eyes are upturned or downturned too.
Following this, I'm all for makeup tips! |

I struggle with makeup and tend to keep with what I know, rather than try new things. Id like to try more bolder looks but worry !

I dress 1950s all the time, and it has taken me years to get good wings, even now some days are better than others. A good eyeliner is a must, I use schwing or a sigma pen that is great |

Ooo will have to try this out myself. I'm usually blobbing it on last minute in the car or loo.
Messy business make up I must admit.
Wish we could just click our fingers, up pop the boobs hair n makeup for convenience. |

On the occasions I've put kabuki makeup on, I always found it best to do the difficult side first (left side of my face), then it's much easier to match up on the easy side. |

Must admit it's a massive issue for me also, with eye makeup. Will be going out a lot more this week, so some of the tips on here have been really useful. As I wear glasses, if I've done a really terrible job, they go on for the night ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |

Sorry, I’m bloody hopeless at this.
I do recommend the make up glasses from Tiger though. Only a couple of quid. Upside down frames with one flippable lens. Brilliant for blind spectacle wearers like me. Combine with Boots illuminated make up mirror and I can actually see what the fuck I’m fucking up.
I barely do make up for this reason. |

I found Boots no7 magnifying suction mirror suits my needs. It has good magnification and it’s portable, so that you can stick it anywhere for the best light and take it away with you. ![](/icons/s/2/cute.gif) |

I think you may find it with the other makeup tools, tweezers, etc. If you search on the Boots website for ‘mirrors’, this mirror and others come up. ‘Tweezerman’ do one with a light now. At 12x magnification, it takes a little getting used to! ![](/icons/s/biggrin.gif) |
