What are your instant turn offs?
Mine include:
Umpteen cock pictures
Text speak
"how r u"
Sydney university/Facebook legalese rubbish in profile
One line profiles
Inability to spell "discreet"
Daft usernames
Otherwise I'm really tolerant....!

All of the above except I don't mind silly usernames but I don't like overly sexual ones like "I'll Bang Your Mrs Hard" (fictitious but representative).
I dislike profiles that just go "I want I want I want" without showing any kind of personality, like people are going to just going to provide like they are some charity case. |

Whinging/moaning statuses, text written in block capitals and overuse of exclamation marks (gives the impression of shouting), too many cock pictures, ‘action’ shots, pictures of women on single men’s profile (saw one that had the same pose with different women) and phone numbers or email addresses.

The main thing to understand with spelling is that discreet and discrete are both correct in spelling but different in meaning. Discreet means covert below the radar.
Discrete means alone or individual.
So it then comes down to context in the person's profile.
So if I say I am discrete, have I misspelled the word or am I describing my status? The english language is wonderful in its complexity.
As for usernames, have you looked around the place is full of daft usernames
My dislikes are demanding hi maintenance profiles (I don't mean long profiles as I do read them, some a funny and some thoughtful), full of judgemental statements. It indicates to me that should we meet, it's unlikely we would get past the general niceties. So pointless meeting or even trying.

I get what you mean it's the judgemental statements that do it for me |

I'm aware that discrete is a valid word but I've yet to see it used in its proper context in any profile.
Probably using the word "daft" in the context of usernames isn't quite what I meant in terms of a red line.
I was thinking more of the "thickgirthspunker007" variety. Just unimaginative and plain boring.....!?
Agree about the profiles though.... |
