There's been a few of these types of threads of late, really disappointing to see one group being picked on here. We are all here for our own reasons, live and let live. If you don't want messages from any particular demographics, put your bloody filters on. Anyone else in agreement here? |

We don't mind messages from guys, so long as they have read the profile.
However, the pool of genuine "single" guys on here is very small, and we tend to get a lot of attached guys contacting us.
I'm not a fan of the "poor me" hard-done by threads started by married/attached guys though, and sometimes comment on them, but then, if they didn't want comments, maybe they shouldn't start forum threads?

Exactly, I am so with the OP. I can think of many demographics in here that I could have a rant about if I chose too.
Some weirdos in this site, real fkn weirdos, verging on the not right in the head, but surely common sense and the block button deals with 99% of them?

I can understand the frustration, I can. unfortunately starting a thread about it will likely not alter the guys or other gender(s) who ignore the profile text.. for a couple of reasons
1) they're unlikely to read the thread.
2) if they message after reading the text a thread ain't gonna change their behaviour.
Complaining and hoping others will change is in my opinion folly...to do the dame things over and over again and expect a different result is insanity (einstein)
Take control apply filters and blocks and you'll havd less stress and angst.. although deep down I sometimes think they like the attention.  |

I also think that by starting threads and posting status updates about single guys they are drawing even more attention to themselves, thus creating more of a problem for themselves, which reflects in an increased number of messages lol. This type of person clearly has no common sense. I believe the phrase is (according to Forrest Gump) "stupid is as stupid does". |

It’s been going on for a while and it’s quite often the same women and couples that start these threads but aren’t prepared to do anything to stop it.
I also wonder if how these people portray themselves on the forum attracts the negative comments they receive. |

Report. Block. Move on. Dont take it to heart its them not you. Etc.
I do understand it's good to vent sometimes but I've made a few good friends on fab I can vent to directly. Which I rarely do because I follow the above. Report. Block. move on. And giggle about it because life is too short for much else. |

I do see threads about men sending terrible or inappropriate messages. I rarely see threads just having a pop at men for no reason.

But the amount of messages we get from straight guys half way across the country is amazing. Its as if they didnt read anything in the profile. Even the title above the photo that drew them in in the first place.

The latter half of your post was not true. People vilified that post due to the crude response the young lady gave in front of her mother. It’s never a good idea to fight the perverse with perversity.
I’d rather my daughter have both men a boot to the balls than use such language in front of me.
The rest of your comments are used against men also. I’ve never in my life before joining here felt the need to have zero pubic hair/a black cock etc.

You're both right and wrong. Filters are not specific enough for that premise to work. We like to meet single guys, specifically single BLACK guys but we're often inundated with messages from single white guys. I'm not sure how much clearer, on our profile, we can be without screaming white guys fuck off. But that would be rude wouldn't it  , a lot more rude than guys who don't read profiles and presume black means white as well, maybe
So applying message filters wouldn't work for us. Conversely, if you specifically didn't want to meet black guys, you have no option of which to prevent them messaging you. Same for any preference here in fabs tbh.

I'm always surprised when people put on their profiles "single men don't message us". As you say, maybe they don't know to use filters.
Maybe they want to see which single men have been viewing them, as the filter blocks this as well. |

You're both right and wrong. Filters are not specific enough for that premise to work. We like to meet single guys, specifically single BLACK guys but we're often inundated with messages from single white guys. I'm not sure how much clearer, on our profile, we can be without screaming white guys fuck off. But that would be rude wouldn't it , a lot more rude than guys who don't read profiles and presume black means white as well, maybe
So applying message filters wouldn't work for us. Conversely, if you specifically didn't want to meet black guys, you have no option of which to prevent them messaging you. Same for any preference here in fabs tbh.

I agree that we should not bash anyone on here at all. It's not just single guys. There are many threads that have ago and gender size age ethnicity etc.
I think you have to keep in mind that blocking single guys is not the answer sometimes.
It's not that people are getting messages of single guys it's what messages they receive.
We are open to meeting the right type of single guy. So why would we stop them messaging us.
For us it's the vile messages you sometimes receive off a small percentage of single guys that's the issue

I think it’s very easy to get arrogant on here and have a low tolerance threshold. We’ve been guilty of it in the past and probably (almost certainly) have had profile text that’s far from friendly and in many ways a poor reflection of who we are. We love single men and hope that the guys we don’t reply to understand that they’re not for us and the time is wrong. Bravo single guys. We salute you! You have to jump through hoops just to get a response from couples and a lot of us simply ‘Aren’t all that’. Sits back and waits for the ‘Speak for yourself’ comment. totally agree, single guys always get a bashing, if you don’t want messages put your filters on, many won’t and still complain, perhaps they measure there own self worth by how many messages they get!
Just as many couples and single ladies misbehave or are rude/annoying in clubs it’s just a blind eye is turned!
Many single guys get roasted about there profiles and the cock shots, personally the endless stream of close up boob shots is tiring!

I think anyone that sends any other person a moody message because of being rejected should be band ,man,woman or couples .there is no need for it on a site like this. Men do get a bad rep on here due to the small minority that are just idiots
We have our filters down as we like to chat in the forum's and wot not but have found the lads/men we have talked to have been very polite, still may not have the profile but polite all the same

We do, occasionally, look for single guys.
In all honesty, we have only had a handful of troublesome guys...we just block them.
Unfortunately, it is that very small minority, that can, and probably have, ‘forced’ couples and single ladies to leave the site, and swinging.
When we tell a guy ‘Sorry, but no thanks’, we usually get a message thanking us for replying, and good luck. Some don’t send another message, that’s fine.
All in all, we say, that around 97% of guys who have approached us, have been respectful, charming and understanding.

Yes, totally agree. I've got my filters on so no messages, no abuse, no hassle. I think the problem lies with the people that do want to meet single guys here.... They can't use filters as they want the messages in their inbox, but then they'll get inundated. i was chatting to a lovely lady last night who said she gets over 200 messages a day from blokes asking her for a fuck... As a first message! Charming, eh?
PS: I'm sure not all the blokes on here are like that..
