We just received the sad news about David, one of the founders of Adfabs, we will copy and paste it below. I first met him on our first visit, wow, back in 2005 I think that would have been and we had a longer chat with him about his plans and the layout of the club. He was a very nice man, even if he could be a stick in the mud sometimes.
This is the mail from the club -
Many of you will have been aware that David, one of the co-owners of our club, has recently been suffering from ill health.
Regrettably, David has lost his battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully early on Wednesday morning.
He was very much lifted by all your messages of support and your kind thoughts throughout his unexpected and untimely illness. He received so much strength and solace knowing that you had been thinking of him.
Over the past year, David had taken a step back from the day-to-day running of the business, though he remained connected and involved right to the end.
AbFabParties, Kestrel Hydro and HDZ, still managed by his business partner, Graham, and looked after each day by a team of stalwart and dedicated staff and party hosts, have continued to run with David's and Graham's mission in mind - to provide the best, most stylish venue in the UK for like-minded party people to meet, have fun, make friends and live life to the full!
The loss to us at AbFabParties will be immeasurable (he was a much loved and respected business partner, boss, confidant, mentor and dear, dear friend), but it was David's absolute wish that the party goes on...he was very proud of what he had helped to create and some of his proudest moments were receiving feedback from party guests whose lives had changed because of the AbFab experience.
With this in mind, we continue to present our parties in the spirit which David would have wanted - with passion, vision, style and freedom...a good old "knees-up", AbFabParties Style, which David would have been proud of and would have enjoyed immensely...
At David's family's request, we will be collecting donations for the Princess Alice Hospice.
Donations can be made directly via the hospice's website or via the donation box we will be placing at reception.
