Fake profiles on the forums

I have noticed an increase in the number of fake and dubious profiles posting on the forums. Are they doing this to try and get credibility and/or attention? Admin do a great job trying to stop these profiles but some are very clever

If I’d posted a few weeks ago before I was verified, would you assume I was fake because I have no pics on my profile??

The usual, dubious photos, lack of genuine or any verifications , crazy and obviously bull shit status updates etc etc

Some have fake/stolen pictures, they seem like obvious catfish accounts to me. I've noticed quite a lot when browsing recently

Little things like American plug sockets give them away. Granted they could actually be American but I doubt it

Unlikely, you don’t have ‘dubious’ photos and I suppose it depends on what you wrote on here

I agree especially couples profiles! Always the male wanting to.meet without the female. When asked to prove the female knows bam blocked

Am ok looking with face photo on profile I must be fake only ugly single men on here so my photos must be fake

I got a few messages saying I was fake and really abusive when I first joined was horrible and I was even reported lol but I’m not and was v frustrating but I suppose the real fake ones make people paranoid about it all

Please stop getting defensive.

I'm sure the OP meant the profiles that have someone elses pictures, ive noticed quite a few myself the last few months where a simple google image reverse shows the person in question as some polish/russian/swedish model or intstagram influencer.

These are the kind of Profiles the OP is calling out.

Yes there's one who is quite prolific, but very clever about the pictures she steals from other places, they don't always show up on tineye. I've reported her numerous times but she's still here.

I haven't noticed fake profiles on the forum. I wonder sometimes what makes people decide a profile is fake, some of the criteria seem rather flimsy x

It is quite simple really, dubious photos, dubious or no verifications, poorly written or overly descriptive profiles, wild and hilarious claims on their status updates

It’s very easy to throw around accusations with nothing definitive, I’ve been accused of being a man, married, attached, fake and a time waster!

I’m none of the above, usually it’s because I’ve ignored them or turned them down. Are you struggling to get a meet and the bitterness is starting to show through ??

I agree usually when someone with no verifications posts a controversial reply or as you say crazy status updates. My fake profile radar goes up. They are attention seekers who wouldn't dare be as honest on their real profiles.

A small minority of fab members actually read the forums so I doubt the attention would be that much.

Imo fake profiles that use the forum are more likely to be 2nd profiles of regular users that are used to troll someone they've had a difference of opinion with !

To be fair, I think it's a pretty shitty accusation to throw around unless you're 100% sure. I've had quite a few messages saying I'm using fake pictures and I'm not genuine and it does upset you, especially if it is spread around. I don't have veris because I haven't met anyone yet, but no veris doesn't mean fake.

I do sometimes question if people are genuine as some accounts seem super dodgy and the pictures are questionable, but to report and send nasty messages accusing people isn't OK.

Well there was 2 last night in the forum... called woman all sorts when he was announcing he was leaving! And his side kick before both were removed!

I turned a very pushy guy down and was polite even tho it says in my profile I am a club swinger only! He set up a fake profile and messaged everyone of my veris slagging me off! Then deleted his account!

It's not always the male wanting to meet without the female. I am the female half of this couple and I run the profile. It's more likely I would meet a couple without him than the other way around. Xx"
I.know this but when asking to confirm the other half is real and is happy with it, i got hit with excuses then blocked that shouts fake

Professional quality photos , photos where the person looks different in each photo, I have to add that this isn’t aimed at women but couples, men & TV/TS as well

You have to be verified one way or another to use the forum. However if you think someone is fake then report and let Admin take a look
