I get a few of these type of messages, two this morning and its only 8.40am. Could be "want some" or "can I suck you" or "nice dick"
So I'm wondering does it ever work ? I tend to spend an overly long amount of time trying to find a relevant detail on someones profile about which to build a first message, but am I missing a trick here ?
This isn't a rant, each to their own, I'm just curious.
Has anyone ever arranged a meet based on a two of three word first contact ? |

Three words? As many as that?
I've had messages shorter than their user name.
But whether I'd meet depends if the message is from a man or a woman / couple.
I'm bi but more attracted to feminine partners, so if a man messages, he has to put more effort into persuading me. |

I'm skeptical that people really want to know how I am, and if I said I was bad and my haemerroids were playing up would they actually care (they aren't, just putting that out there)

Yes. It’s a two way street. There’s nothing wrong with someone testing the waters and we don’t expect an essay or original message as that tester.
I wouldn’t expect someone in a pub to launch into a full bio of themselves when “Hi” would of worked just as well.
If we like the look of someone then it’s as beholden on us as much as them to get the conversational ball rolling. |

Last week I got a message from some guy, he clearly hadn't read my profile so just deleted, next message I got was him calling me a slag and blocking me!!

Any message I get that just contains 'How's you' or even more lazy 'Hows U' gets no reply from me, I really hate it and why do some guys send a 'Hi, nice pics' message with a load of their own pics attached, pics that are on their profile anyway? |

"I usually look at the profile before replying if it grabs my attention then I'll reply. I get that there's no point sending a 1000 word essay as a first message just to be ignored. "

This. Effort messages are more favourable and yes, so many Hi how are you as first text are a no no for me. Then again I've had some great texts as first intros too. |

If it's from someone I've been talking too then yes it works in carrying on an already good conversation.
If it's fresh meat as so to speak then no not really.
