Surely it's kind of hard to police.
Especially the time wasters.
Sure, there could be an insistence of people photo verifying. That may remove the fakes, pic collectors etc.
But time wasters? People have the right to change their minds at any point.
What seemed a good idea at the time, may suddenly not appeal as much. A lot of people just like to chat. People are fickle. Simple as that.
You can't throw them off site for it

I’ve come to the conclusion that there aren’t that many true time wasters. I think many lose their nerve at the last moment.
We’ve started leaving the door open for those who have to 'work' at the last moment, have an ill granny/dog or who have had some other disaster and have actually had some decent meets through it. It’s a big thing to start swinging and not surprising that some get cold feet. |

I've made a suggestion on here that a person could, before a meet submit a token. The person they met could, after the meet return the token.
Percentage meets would give one a star system to illuminate the occasional person who for whatever reason won't return a token.
It wouldn't be a 100% accurate system but it would differentiate between 'genuine' people and the fantasists who set up meet after meet and never attend any of them. |

Everyone has had them just change the way you filter them out
We look at verifications if they have lots or if they have meet someone we know chances are they will be genuine. However bear in mind everyone has family / work commitments and cant drop everything for a meet

I understand the frustration, over the years it’s happened to me countless times. Now I just laugh to myself and block anyone who wastes my time. I know a lot of couples who only meet people at clubs and organised events for this very reason, personally I find that a bit inhibiting for my lifestyle.
As a few posters have alluded to, it’s such a difficult thing to police - even verified people can be time wasters sadly. |

Fakes would be easy to rectify, make everyone photo verify within 24 hours or freeze/delete their profile.
Time wasters on the other hand not so easy. Some people just seem to get off it.... maybe include it in the list of interests.... just a thought  |

what determines a time waster and a fake ? I don’t think I’m either but was accused of it recently just because I didn’t reply to a message within 2 minutes of them messaging me and when I looked on their profile guess what status update was something like why are single males all time wasters I took it as a dig at me  |

If photo verification is a guarantee that a person is genuine in your opinion simply don't interact with profiles that don't have the green flag. Admin have said they won't make it compulsory for all members.
Use mail filters and reverse search images too it will cut down on the number of fake profiles you encounter.
Other tips are if they want sex talk early on chances are they won't meet and if they go quiet after a meet is arranged.
Never spend money or travel too far, don't agree to turn up at a post code or street with the promise of being given a house number. |

I find it hard to even get chatting to any singles or couples on here, makes me think most are fake profiles,its not that I'm not polite in my opening message |

Maybe the new rule that are coming in in regards to having to register your details with the site administrator will stop all the time wasters setting up profiles. Possible unintended advantage to the government busy bodies. |

We are the same. Think our meet veris prove we are genuine, however we don't arrange meets off here, just use it to keep in touch with folk we know. If people think we are fake there is always the block button. Fab gives you the tools to run your profile as you see fit. |

I’ve encountered timewasters who are photo verified and have verifications. One of them I had actually met a couple of times although I should have known from the off when he binned me off for someone else on what should have been our first meet and tried blaming it on me.
As someone has said...laugh, block and move on.

Yeah I mean, when they tick that time waster box on joining, they should say oh you're planning to be a time waster? Sorry, you can't join.
How do you expect the site to deal with them? It's a site to facilitate people getting to know each other, the responsibility is on you to have a level of due diligence.
The site has a facility to report time wasters and will look in to it as far as the messaging system can but essentially it's two (sets of) adults deciding to meet. How can the site admin force both parties to turn up? |
