Do you judge other peoples houses for tidyness and cleanliness?

Would you walk away if a house was untidy or dirty? I'm not talking how clean is your house type dirty.

I'm just wondering what people think.

My house is pretty clean and tidy but I know its no where near spotless and immaculate, with 2 small kids I can never seem to keep up!

Would you think that someone with a untidy house may lack in hygiene or would it not bother you?

Just wondering how my house would come across to other people, to me its normal but I fear I may be classed as a messy moo! but I will say that hygiene doesn't lack, thats one thing I'm paranoid about, making sure I'm clean and sparkly for visitors

I am always impressed by spick and span houses. I do not discriminate if they are a bit messy though. I would certainly discriminate if the halls were lined with bin bags full of 8 week old trash however!

I always appologise for the fact we havent finished decorating the house.

I always feel I should be ashamed cos the kids have to eat in the livingroom and the carpet has a couple of what looks like stains near the kitchen door - its not stains its where the youngest kid has spilt things and I have scrubbed the pile on the carpet away!!

My home is exactly that my home not a show home not ever going to be even in the same league as a show home why - cos I have kids, a cat who liked to scratch things when we first got here and loads of better things to do with my time that make sure my home looks like a show home.

I will one day finish decorating and get the house the way I want it but I fear that day I will drop down dead from shock!

I tend not to notice if the furishings match or if its new stuff Im not going to inspect the sofa and curtains just the person or people!!

We think everyone but the most prissy, house proud fanatic understands the difference between homeliness and filth, or organised chaos and squalor.

So stop worrying, we know many of us do, but we doubt theres any need.

As you said "hygiene doesn't lack" and thats the main thing.

To be honest most of us have familys, and with kids comes mess, i dont expect anyones house to be anything special, if i walked into somones house and there was a pile of ironing in the corner or the odd glass or two on the side i wouldnt give it a second though because thats what family homes are like, if as someone said there was bin bags full of 8 week old rubbish round the house theres no excuse for that, homes are just that and no i wouldnt judge someone for it, i have 3 kids, my living room needs decorating due to having 2 littler of kittens clawing away at it so im in no possition to judge anyone else

As long as you've had a shower and shaved your bits, nobody is going to bother.

Anyone who lives in a "show home" environmnent is generally to be avoided anyway - they'll be panicking about the bodily fluids flying about the joint and getting in the yukka!

If the smell hits you as yur walking up the garden path, then you know you have a wee bit of a problem on your hands.

As an ex field service engineer with 25 or so years under his belt ... boy could I tell some tales about filthy houses and strangely enough it's not limited to the everyday bloke in the street. I've been to some pretty well to do folks' houses and some of them live like pigs.
