Totally spontaneous most of the time for us. It's why we swing mainly in clubs and very rarely prearrange meets except with people we know well. In a club we have no idea who we might be playing with, and often I don't even know the name of the guys that I fuck there. An added advantage is that in a club there is never the problem of a no show.

We would say planned now as spur of the moment is tricky with work, kids etc,..... but we met from a spontaneous meet and we certainly don't regret that!!
