A question to anyone and everyone...
Generally, how do you prefer the first message you receive to be?
I know there isn't a one-size-fits-all answer.....
I'm always polite in mine, but so often see comments about not wanting 'hi' etc, but equally not wanting filth.... what DO you want then lol

We are quite happy to receive "hi, how are you messages". If I was approached by someone in a bar who immediately launched into a monologue saying what he liked about me, what he was interested in etc I'd be bored and think he was a bit odd, same goes for if he immediately started telling me what he'd like sexually.
It's the profile, pictures and the way they communicate after the initial message that counts. |

A polite message is the best way to start, even a simple hello, how are you works. It is what follows in the next few messages which will dictate whether we continue to chat.
Obviously as we are not looking for single guys if we get a polite message from guy we will politely tell him that he is not what we are looking for. |

It makes sense to take the polite approach - I'd never approach a woman with an explicit statement of what I'd like to do ..... maybe the 'women' wanting that are actually guys.... really wouldn't surprise me lol |
