So we had arranged to meet a couple this evening, seemed genuine, spoke to both male and female in a group chat.
We arranged to meet them for 8:30 at a pub for a social, we get to the pub and we have been in there for 20 minutes before they message and say that they can’t make it and they apologise.
Is this a common issue?
Is there any way to get around messers? |

I waited in a pub once for over an hour for a lady who never showed up. Messaged me later & appologised, apparantly her other half wanted to chat. Was not best pleased as it was a 40 mile round trip & the pub was a right dump. |

Sadly yes. I’ve had the same lady cancel on me twice when I’d got a hotel booked. First time I could cancel with a refund, the second it was too late. She promised to refund me but never did.
Weirdly a couple that I thought I’d chatted to before then disappeared did the same thing yesterday and gone today.
Good verifications go a long way, but you never actually know who has access to an account at any time. Saying that I’ve had more positive experiences than negative, so stick with it. |

From what I've heard this happens quite a lot on fab.
It happend to me with a woman who I used to chat with on another app. We arranged to meet for a coffee and she didn't turned up.
I don't think there is any way of ing out the messers.

I in general only arrange to meet in a club for the sake of this. Alot of people just don't seem to be able to admit they like going out having fun outside of the social demograffic |

Has anyone been to a pub where a couple has been stood up and they approach you instead because you are on the fab app location search!? This happened to me

Unfortunately, vanilla life happens.
Also, regarding booking hotels (for the gentleman that posted about lady cancelling on him twice)- always go for the rooms with free cancellation! And choose the 'pay at the hotel' option. Yes, they are a tad more expensive, but it's all worth it when plans change. |

At least it was 'just' a 40 mile round trip, and not 400... |

This is a very good idea, however we don’t always have the time to head off for the night, plus it can just be easier to meet at a pub |

Try a 150 mile round trip overnight B&B
And a no show!
Happens all the time

We sat in a pub garden the other week, messaged to say we were there, hour and half later they messaged to say they’d forgotten they’d arranged to meet! Wow they must get so many to forget. Who forgets socials (with the potential of play in the future, we don’t!) anyway it was a nice day so it didn’t matter but that’s not the point, why do people think it’s ok to mess people around?! Sorry moan over! |

Ouch been quite lucky so far always chatted over the phone or video / face time. Always have a social close by or in a mutual location try and not meet outside the radius of the m42 due to the numerous run arounds like the above. Never dream of booking a hotel room with someone I've never met tho I'm able to accommodate.
Unfortuantly I have been canceled either on day or a few hours sometimes even been ghosted or blocked with no explanation or apology. Guess people get cold feet or others do have genuine reasons ie childcare or family emergencies etc.... |

I had to cancel with someone Friday, totally legit reason. She was cool with it.
As stated, life happens.
Just need to respect the time of others and let them know ASAP. |

I'd been messaging a couple for weeks and weeks, telling each other what we'd be getting up to and all looking good.
I'd been nervous as hell for 2 days before, on the night I was terrified, so went out early and had a small drink in a local first.
Whilst in there, I messaged to say I was on my way, and guess what....I was blocked.
What the hell had I done wrong?!!
A year on and I'm still blocked. |

No shows happen but we won’t ever meet people in a pub nowadays it’s either at there house, a hotel they’ve booked or at a club, wheedles out the messers |

Yes, I had this too...guy I was chatting to for quiet some time,we arranged,he messaged right up to an hour before meeting that he couldn't wait to meet, didn't show up..no message & then blocked me on here. So childish and time wasting. He's still on here. No explanation, no apology!

I've never been actually stood up but I've had some go quiet before the arranged meet or even the day of the meet. I did have one lady who gave me her postcode which turned out to on some railway tracks! She was either very kinky and wanted to do it on the tracks or didn't like me for some reason and wanted me run over by a train!! |

I used to chat with a lady in London and when I was staying there for work I asked if she would like to meet up and she was up for it and suggested sex..
I said okay lets meet up Wednesday and then she ghosted and I think she blocked me on Kik.
Why do they do it! |
