"I'm always amazed (ok, that's irony) by how many new profiles appear with the description "I'm a xx-year old straight woman looking for men, women, couples" which seem to disappear after a few days! Get a life! " I think this is the standard text put by the site. Maybe these new ladies find being innundated by messages and the 'friendliness' of some users overwhelming. Instead of telling them to 'get a life' maybe think about how the site can be made more welcoming for newbies.

"I'm always amazed (ok, that's irony) by how many new profiles appear with the description "I'm a xx-year old straight woman looking for men, women, couples" which seem to disappear after a few days! Get a life! " OP that is the standard text the site puts on your profile which stays there until you change it. When I first joined fab I was inundated with messages, hundreds in the first hour. Lots of single men and a few couples look for newbies and see them as "fresh meat". We haven't had an opportunity to learn what the site is all about so they think we will meet just anyone who says "want a fuck?" I very nearly left the site within a few hours as this barrage of messages nearly scared me off. I actually left my profile and came back to the site after about a week. I mass deleted the thousands of messages in my inbox and started again. What I think would help newbies massively is to automatically put all message filters on and send us a message saying we won't be able to receive any messages until we review our filters. This would stop people pouncing on us a scaring us away - it might help address the gender imbalance a little bit too!
