What’s wrong with “hi, how are you?” As a first line of an initial message to someone?
I ask this because when browsing profiles I see a lot of people would just delete the message because of this approach.
It’s strange to me that this quite normal greeting That you wouldn’t think twice about face to face in the real world would be so offensive to people on fab? |

It's boring.
I generally get between 30 and 300 messages a day, just first messages. Some get more. I don't have time to answer that sort of volume. I have a life and people here I'm already talking to.
I vet by people who show an interest in my profile. Not just appearing, saying something about me. Because otherwise you might just be sending the same thing to every woman within 50 miles. That's off-putting. To know that any vagina will do. Some are like that. |

I would delete it, my experience is those who send initial messages like that tend to have no profile write up worth anything, no pics.
Those things plus the few word message show lack of effort and likely to continue in that way. |

Because their profiles are just as shite with no public pictures! I don't waste my time on a blank canvas who has nothing to say for themselves, so if they can't be bothered then neither I |

Nothing wrong with it per se, it's just tedious to answer the same question 40-50 times a day, sometimes more.
So now, I'll look at the profile of the sender before deciding whether it goes to the bin or not. |

Nothing wrong at all. However when you get such message and the senders status update says "run out of messages, kik me on..." it's easy to make a blanket assumption.
Plus most of the time such message is a clear indication there won't be much else in the profile to peak interest.

All of the above, particularly what Inaswingdress said. I have a two sentence minimum hurdle for messages. If you can’t be bothered to put together a two sentence message, I can’t be bothered to respond. Might sound harsh if you don’t understand how many messages a woman gets, but clearing my message inbox is a work task, not a way I want to spend my evenings. |

Seriously op these ladies are giving you pointers to help you.
Listen to them.
Get some pics if you want to be noticed, write something about yourself!!
Your profile is boring so do something about it or you'll never get a meet!! |
