I got two of them replaced by the insurance company, but it kind of put me off riding them because I didn’t want anyone to see them.

" That's a shame, I love my bikes but always see them as a tool for a job... They're insured so I've never worried too much, and I've never had one nicked! However, if my 'best' bike got nicked I'd be heartbroken - it was a present to myself for my 40th and to underline a very shitty few years. It's a Cervelo R5 with full Dura Ace and Dura Ace C35s. Love it! Maybe go for something stealthy... One of my riding buddies has a matt-black Trek Madone with black Dura Ace, debadged Rovals... It never gets a second glance even though it's worth about £8 grand!

All the little shits are riding £2k bikes that are clearly robbed. If I ever see my old Giant Trance getting ridden around I couldn’t be held responsible for my actions.

No Not doing much at the moment, "injuries" Once we went via the EV routes along rivers and canals (longer and flat and able to hit some naturist sites on the Atlantic coast) and the second time more direct and over the hills. Both ended up 1000 miles as we did extra on the UK side. Didn't rush but just enjoyed - brilliant trips

"Did 41 miles yesterday, 61 for the week! Respect!!! Thank you 3 months till ridelondon so really need to be cycling everywhere lol " Did ride London a few years ago, was good fun. Leith Hill was clogged up, Box was a gentle pedal push it’s the hill 90 mile in that’s about 600 metres long but not what you need after 90 miles! It’s fun. Be very careful on the descents, lots of people who aren’t used to descents or even descents in groups. Listen to the calls of ‘slowing’ and ‘stopping’. It’s the descents where the accidents happen. Best of luck. You’ll have a blast!

Quite right and good for you! I had to get two new bikes from a website as the insurance company insisted I use them,(replacing stolen) I was reluctant and since found out I could have pushed for an alternative. Anyway, on arrival the gears were all over the place. My attempts only made things worse. Took it to Newdales in Saffron Walden and booked it for a service, telling them what had happened. On collection and ready to pay, they said “no charge”. How about that! Support local shops - we will miss them. Respect great service - only one place I will go now for all my biking needs. Safe cycling everyone.

That is the trouble with the internet..mind you a few of the chain cycle stores are whipping bikes out of boxes...nipping up the stem..putting the front wheel and pedals on and pushing them out without PDI....ugh... one guy had to buy one via his company cycle to work thing...and ended up in my shop to be sorted...they hadn't set it up and in the end I stripped it and built it again (I'm not going to give away which so called "Brand" this was nor the shop) but they paid my time to sort this out... "I work on my own bikes and those of friends but it's not a business I would want to work in. I am sure those of you that do have every internet shopping expert in daily. I had years on the spanners on aircraft and in motorsport and apart from building wheels I can and have the tools to do most jobs but yes I know what you mean about cheap brands and poor setup. Strangely never a topic I expected to be discussing here. " yeah we do get the "experts" in...lol... I'm lucky that most of my business is from the mid to high end kit...albeit with the chain store specials in...ugh!... I also build bespoke set up's for customers... where they pick the frame, groupset (whatever the brand) etc.... of course then there are the power meters etc to add on...oval rings..and so it goes on....

"Former mtb-er turned (shamefully) into a Lycra clad roadie although I still try to get out on the MTB at times! Shout out to all fellow Shimano fans! Apologies to any sram fans (you’ll find the light side one day!)....Can’t hear any campag fans over the noise of their gears changing Customers bring me all brands to sort out...all have their issues ...but I ride sweet n smooth Campagnolo... On my Bianchi's “Erm...can you fit my 10 speed cassette with this 9 speed shinano rear derailleur, on to a 2x11 front crankset with 9 speed sram front derailleur. I bought them all from chain reaction...what do you mean you charge a fitting charge?! How hard can internal cable routing on a shitty carbon bike from amazon be??” I always tell them that.... the Internet doesn't build or fix bikes... they pay the hourly rate or go elsewhere... Every day is a school day in the shop ....." *cough* Halfords *cough* haha Not that they are a bike shop Just spotted your earlier post, ilkley is nice for riding! I rode out from ilkley, up over cow and calf and out round the moore’s from there. Nice bike shop in ilkley with a cafe, good cake!

We’ve known for years that cycling(whatever discipline) cheers you up.

"Club TT tonight, good weather for fast times. " I miss the agonising over 'will it be a good forecast' that came with time trialling, at leat with the track league I only had to worry if it was going to be dry or not! I might do a few local tens later in the tear as I've entered a duathlon so it might be a useful reminder. Only problem I have is my 2 local courses, one I don't consider safe on and the other I've riden a few times but can't warm to the club at all

Great idea but if the government doesn't sort the roads out first, it'll be seen as state sponsored euthanasia
