I notice that profiles vary widely in terms of detail and pictures.

Surprisingly I have found the more discrete and less detailed profiles to be more engaging and positive.

Anyone else consider less to be more?

*btw I’m not knocking the great profiles where people have clearly spent time and effort*

There is no point having a long winded profile. May as well keep it short and sweet

I like to have something to read - something that tells me about the person and what they're into. But anything too much longer than one phone screen starts to lose my interest. Like football pitches for distance, that's my yard stick

I agree, when you end up scrolling it feels more like a council update or a school report

I think so many people don’t bother reading a profile anyway so what’s the point of putting info in there?!

I read every profile as someone has taken their time. I just find that those with little detail are more open to responding to a message

I hate shouty types. I just read your profile and I think that’s a happy medium in that your clear with detail but not rambling or shouty

Nice pics too

No, it pisses me off to be honest, I've had 3 men message me tonight asking to meet because they like my pictures, however, their profiles are bloody sparse with no public pics at all!

WTF ask someone to meet you when they don't have a bloody clue what you look like, and I am not even going into the fact that they obviously haven't read any of my bloody profile, otherwise they wouldn't have messaged me in the first place

People can just go off pics rather than understand what a person wants and if there is likely to be a connection. Regardless of length of a profile I’ll always make an effort to see if I’m compatible

What’s too long and what’s too short?

I’ve recently slashed a lot from ours and also on my solo profile, however some have still said it’s long.

Ours is pretty long winded and a bit jumbled so does need a makeover. But we always prefer detailed bios that give a real flavour of those behind them.

Our is probably too long, and probably too many pics - for some.

But it works for what we want out of fab, so anyone else’s opinion doesn’t matter - so it’s a useful filter as well.
