My school was very strict about uniform
Skirts could be no more than an inch above or below the centre of the knee.
The nuns all carried little rulers & anyone they thought was breaking the rule pulled to one side & measured.
I was always in trouble.
Not because I rolled my skirt over like all my friends, but because I was stupidly tall & skinny at 11, and getting a skirt to fit my waist, and be the correct length was impossible!
