you can use it to reverse search any picture and see where it is shown on the internet

Have to add folks, removing watermarks is as easy as it is to put them on. The only sure fire way of protection from this kind of thing is to not display any photos you dont want shown.
Have all photos in private, without faces.
All faces photos with faces sent privately when you are sure (if there is such a thing that people are genuine)

My opinion only as I don't know how TinEye works but I think if the Fab logo is removed it's unlikely that TinEye will find a duplicate, been using for months and yet to find a duplicate from Fab. The Fab logo needs to be right across the middle to prevent cropping, it spoils the pic but it's really the only way to go as a prevention measure. Damage has been done now but in future we will upload future photos with our own text on them.

Were never really fussed about our pics been used.
Public pics dont identify us and we are very selective on who gets to see (and potentially copy) our private pics.
As said, tineye and google images dont always show whats out there but there are other ways

The fact is ppl have to consider carefully what they put up...
i had this conversation with Sir many moons ago, he likes displaying his subs, but wanted me to seriously and carefully consider what i was comfortable with...he even called me by my sunday name 
Nothing is out there of me i have not considered the implications of.
Everyone needs to do the same,rather than trying to find protection that will be circumvented by anyone who really wants to. |

Have had contact with other Fab members and we can't find a direct link between all of our friends lists that would point to anyone who has access to private photos on every profile effected.
Hate to say this but getting a bit concerned that Fab has been hacked, no sign of any full site rips on the P2P sites or Usenet so far but watching carefully.

on tineye try just copying and pasting the url of the pic to the search box its in properties
tend to find more misuses that way also link the sight of where the stolen pics appear and tin eye will include it on its sweep |

Im concerned that people think water marking their pic's is a cure for pic stealing, its NOT! Its as easy to remove a watermark as it is to place one.
Sorry for repeating this, but i feel it worth repeating!
Watermarks are worthless it people really want your pictures..

Much appreciated that you did, thank you. We're not worried about our public photos - we knew they could end up anywhere. It's the so called private ones we are more concerned about.

Question if so many private pics are being used has fabs been hacked I know msn has been hacked a lot due to thread. Just seems a bit suspicious that so many private pics are on xhamster. |

Um, for those who blur their pics, it might be of interest to know that sometimes photos will still have an original thumbnail sized pic piggybacked on to the pic file that can extracted by certain software.

Just our 2p on this.
The fab servers have definitely not been "hacked", we have 100s of Gb of photos on here and if there was any sort of server access/download of those it would stick out like a sort thumb with our monitoring / anti-intrusion systems. All our servers sit behind dedicated firewalls.
We're also not aware of any way for non-friends to see photos (bugs/hacks like this nearly always get back to us).
Guess it just underlines the need to be careful about what sort of photos you upload, which are set as private vs friend only etc.
We've tried to look for the photos on xhamster but it seems they have all been removed. If any more are uploaded can you contact us direct, we want to see which size/version of the images are showing there.

Thanks. We've had a look at these. The watermark is simply being cut off of the bottom of the photos. This rules out our servers being "hacked" because we store an unwatermarked version from which the watermarked ones we show are displayed.

I've checked on all the links to My photos and comes up with no photos... You need to know the urls to check...
Is it still just the UK swingers album showing?

NOt for my photos its not.. and can't find anything from album 3 or 2.
I think it must just take a bit to get off the server... Keep reporting it... As no one is going to have the urls saved I would imagine.

There is a flaw with an area of privacy.
If someone hides their profile but doesn't remove their profile pics to friends only, they can still be seen if you click on the gallery on the side bar of the profile.
As stated above in a previous post, the only safe way is not to post any.
To those concerned about their photos being stolen, have you thought about the possibility of "friends" who have left the site recently or contacts that have disappeared? Its a usual trait of these kind of happenings, someone joins and makes a fake profile using stolen pics and pose as a couple as they appear less threatening and swap pics and use yours on various sites. |

yup ...none of my pics will be changed because i am happy with where they are and their privacy settings..and the fact the fab ones are pretty tame compared to the ones on bdsm sites...everyone needs to think about what they upload and where. |

To me it bothers me not where they are .... As if I didn't want face photos public I wouldn't have them lol.. what bothered me was that someone else was getting attention for my photos...
Like you Jem the photos on here are tame to what I could have up there lol...
I was more concerned that others may not have been as happy to have them public as I am.

People are obviously very concerned and its disgusting that pics have been placed on another site.
Just the fact that the cheeky gits post what they like without any thought. At least these threads are supportive, and even if its difficult to stop it happening, its nice that members are bringing it to the attention of all. Its not nice to see a pic of yourself on another site when you haven't placed it there. We shouldn't have a blase attitude, we all know that if we left our front doors open to our homes and went out, there's a huge risk that our belongings would be stolen. We'd still think an injustice has been committed though |

I have my photos up to get the attention lol not for someone else to get it... I work hard to get my photos... Trust me ask my meets how many times I say.. oh let's take that photo again lol...
It does seem to be almost sorted now and what is still worrying is those that had private ones stolen... Funny my private ones are faceless ones lol but I prefer my pussy pictures for friends only lol
Thank you to the couple that tipped me off.. and to everyone else that helped get the profile closed.
I suggest everyone email them and maybe they can find away to limit this.
