It's partly about what works for your image and with your body chemistry, I'm afraid! Go into a store and smell some things, or look it up on a perfume database if you know what kind of scents you like. |

Tom Ford is in my opinion one of the best.
Interesting to see some, what i would consider, old fragrances still being highly rated. The likes of Davidoff Cool water, Farenheit and Issay Miyake. Havent worn any of them for best part of 15 years !.
Going to a social tonight so might dust off the Issay !! |

Different women like different scents, you also need to be aware that they will not smell the same on you as someone else.
Personally, I like woody, spicey scents and find many modern male fragrances too sweet.
Can't remember the name of the one I got Cal for Xmas but I like that....so I'm no help at all really

Whereas I can find woody and spicy overpowering! (it can be done well, but sadly often isn't) |

I wear light and ephemeral myself. Possibly a bit too girly for my age, but I like it. I also tend to wear it at a level where I just notice it on myself (I don't wear it every day so I'm not immune to it) and others only notice if they're up close and very personal.
Too often I find myself feeling sick because I'm in the vicinity of someone who thinks more is more. |

A number of the range from Parfums de Marly , but particularly Layton or Pagasus. The names may seem strange but it’s a French perfume house founded in the late 18th century for Louis XV, who was crazy about horse racing; hence the range named after famous thoroughbreds. Just thought I would pass that knowledge on! Expensive though. |

Don’t buy any high street brands.
Buy Creed or better still go to a Penhaligons store.
Once you have tried their fragrances, anything else just smells of cheap alcohol.
Expensive but you need a tiny amount and it lasts all day.
Try Halfeti from Penhaligons. I’ve had ladies stop me in the street to ask what I’m wearing! |

My best friend says Blu by Chanel is akin to kryptonite. It's fascinating to see how many people have vouched for this. Makes me think I should get some too.
Personally though I fancy less potent aromas. If I find it a hammer to my own sinuses then it's probably stronger than I want it to be for someone else. |

Terre is my own personal go to fragrance. It started more as a joke between my mum and I because of what I do but the fragrance is just the right balance for me. Not too potent. Glad to see someone's a fan |

My choice is Lacoste and Lacoste shower gel, but...
I've noticed is a massive trend to wear the fragrance/eau de parfume or similar, and people to smell you from at least one mile away. And why is the price so important? Is it a statement of some kind? In my opinion it needs to be subtle. If you are out on a friday night, and pass by a lady most likely she'll get nose burns. Yes it does smell nice, but to much. It needs to make her curious, to make her wander, to get closer to you...
The same goes to the ladys, for me is a turn off when a smell on a woman so much perfume that it feels like she bathe in it. |

Sauvage invictus the new boss scent is nice too |

Is it bad that I don't want to say what my favourites are because I'd rather the chances of me smelling the same as other people are kept as low as possible? For example I really like Eau d'Issey but rarely if ever wear it cos it's a little played out now and everyone knows what it is... I prefer to wear fragrances that are a little more obscure... Basically just like I don't wear clothes with the maker's logo emblazoned over the chest or back, so I don't like to smell like a 'brand', I just want to smell really fucking nice. |

For me my everyday work aftershave is dior sauvage or Armani code, and my out out fragrance tends to be Tom fords black orchid, or oud wood! Both get plenty of great comments and are a little different to the every day ones,, |

"It's partly about what works for your image and with your body chemistry, I'm afraid! Go into a store and smell some things, or look it up on a perfume database if you know what kind of scents you like. "
This, I had a mate who used to wear Issey Miyaki all the time and it smelled amazing on him, I got some and it just smelled... I dunno kind of lemony but nothing special.
My usual go-to's are Sauvage for the evening and Bleu de Chanel for the day |

Sauvage is nice but its mass appeal does mean everyone wears it and it isnt very individual. That's a factor for me. |

Plus it used to be quite hard to get hold of - duty free and proper perfume stores only, now it's in every large supermarket.
If you like the Issey aroma profile it's worth checking out some of the Kenzo range, although it's a lot easier to buy in France than it is here. |

If I pass by a guy wearing it my heads turns like it's on a bloody string and I just want to grab him and bury my face in whichever body part smells strongest of this.
It's an old one but omfg I've never been able to resist it and just a hint is enough to get my mind turning towards very naughty thoughts.

Joop! Homme and Joop! Go.
Superdrug always do deals on these - usually a 200ml bottle for £35, when the going rate elsewhere is about £72. Every time I wear it, I almost always get nice comments about it, from either sex! |

Sex Panther by Odeon. "60% of the time, it works...every time!"
Or Tom Ford by Tom Ford. Pineapple Vintage Intense (crappy name) is as close as you can get to Creed Aventus without paying hundreds, but it's still quite pricey.

"Save yourself £75 and go to Harvey Nichols and get Molecule 1. I promise you will be surprised how many people will compliment you. It will be the best £75 you will spend. "
That didn’t happen with me I’d heard all the rave reviews too! Maybe my pheromones aren’t compatible
Creed gets my vote too there are a lot of different varieties. The Fenwicks store in Newcastle let’s you try them |
