I'm currently involved in a project ripping out a big house on Park Lane, overlooking Roundhay Park in Leeds. The main contractor has heard from his father who did work on the property decades ago that the place used to be used for some wild parties by some previous owners and that the large cellars in the place in particular were used as dungeons?
Naturally as both a man who is interested in building history and a naughty soul, I'm curious about whether this is true...Can any older local forum posters confirm this?

Well so far, this thread has turned up nothing whatsoever, unless you count the appearance of a duck.
Has anyone ever paid a visit to these premises? Apparently they stopped happening about 20 years ago? |

Incidentally I've just found proof!
TWO circular spiggoted brackets, fitted into the original beams , hidden behind the ceiling we've smashed out today...
I therefore deduce firstly that they were used to hold short chained restraints and secondly that you lot are no fucking help whatsoever...
