Dumb question alert - What’s a unicorn

So, as I spend far too long bouncing around this site I get to notice quite a lot of use of the word “unicorn” in names and profiles. Although I consider myself reasonably smart, on this one I can’t quite piece together exactly what it means in relation to this lifestyle. So, is there a one size fits all answer, or is it just random use of the mythical animals moniker that happens to pop up more regularly than could be expected? Be kind, I know it’s probably a dumb question!

We are very rare and stay mainly underground due to the majority of couples only wanting to use us as their new pleasure toy!

I was under the impression that a "unicorn" is just something rare. So like, in a sea of "horses" (the most common denominator) theres one "unicorn" (whatever that different thing you were looking for)

It just refers to something rare and different.

But if it means bi single girls, ohmygosh, I'm a unicorn! This is the best news!! Lol
