After a short break from posting,i indulged myself in a little light reading on the forums and noticed that a lot of threads asking for advice turned into a morals debate surely if advice cant be offered then morals should be left out of it,your own thoughts on this delicate subject please |

I post my opinion, it is only my opinion and nothing else.
Many times I have changed after reading posts from other people with more experience/knowledge.
And I never expect or ask anyone to justify their preferences, choices and/or opinions... as I wouldn't justify mine.
However, I also strongly believe that many threads and posts are offered up by people who for whatever reason are no longer able to post under original names so they pop back with new identity with the primary objective of stirring it all up/old vendettas.
I do not mean the OP.

"That being said you can give your moral opinion on a subject without becoming judge juror and executioner. xx "
Yes indeed but if a person is not gonna offer any advice why go on a moral tirade, maybe best to say nothing

when you give advice you do call on your opinions which are partly formed by your morals so they may be involved although not necessarily. Rather depends on the subject. If I post I do expect that other people will disagree with my _iew. If I wasnt prepared to accept that I would be unwise to post. However, there are ways and means to say things and some subjects are a bit sensitive. Personally, I would only ask out of entertainment or curiousity as I make my own mind up on most issues. Therefore what other people who I dont know post on the internet dont really have much power over me. |

I think you can not give your opinions without some of your morals coming out..
Yes sometimes it seems that some think that there moral judgement is better.. but lets face it.. in the vanilla world everyone of us would be seen as immoral disgusting perverts..
I always look at it with this _iew.. Do what you will but hurt no one... ( well unless they want you too)

"Morals are something you live by on a day today basis.
Advice is something you give based on your perception.
"
and your perceptions are coloured by your day to day experience.
advice cannot be offered without reference to our own moral code when it involves subjects like relationships.
To pretend to be objective, and it will be a pretence, since to have an opinion is to offer a purely subjective _iew, does not treat a poster honestly.
However to have an opinion need not mean to pillory others who disagree, i am remembering one particular converstion with iconic ,where she asked about how my relationship with kev and sir worked. She made clear that she had nothing but negative experiences of bdsm but did so without in any way judging my involvement in a d/s relationship.
There is no such thing as an opinion whch is unbiased by our own morals, however we can be congurant(aware and consisten) about what emotions a subject brings up.
For example there have been threads from men playing away cos the wife has gone off sex after having a baby,i always make very clear my _iews are influenced by the fact i suffered from severe post natal depression.
lastly just because someone expresses a _iew on here doesnt mean anyone has to listen, tis only the interwebz.
As i have posted before, rule 1 is, never except advice from strangers of the internet |
