"Any new runners "

I run on coffee and chocolate. Does that count?

Honestly--these days, walking is quite a feat for me. Due to broken foot, not chocolate, let me add.

Or don't.

Do you have any idea what goes through a woman's head when she is planning a run? Before she even leaves the house she has to think about:

* Her clothing, don't want to be accused of "asking for it" if anything happens

* Her route - is it well lit, public enough, is it safe, if she's driven there is the car park safe.

* Does someone know where she is, what time she's expected back

* Can she still hear people approaching when or if she listens to music

God damn when I run I just want to run, I don't want to be bothered with guys trying to chat, let alone chat me up... I barely want to chat to the people I run with when I'm not on my own...

Lady Jayne agree its all about safety and I respect anyone out there putting the effort in.

This wasn't intended to upset anyone

Love running. Has stopped me from developing a saggy arse in my 40s, so forever grateful.

Not upset don't worry. It always amazes me how many men don't even think about how threatened/vunerable/creeped out being approached unsolicited makes a woman feel.

It's bad enough in a bar or a club the 'accepted' (I use the term loosely) place to chat someone up, but that's amplified if your out in the street, especially if you're on your own.

The worst is cars beeping because you’re in fitness gear, even shouting out the van windows. Then you finally reach the gym and you’re getting the odd balls staring and trying to catch your eye.

Sadly main reason I don’t want to go back to The Gym as I have nobody to go along with.

My ex Wife used to suffer from this badly, cars beeping and guys shouting as she ran past them, when I mentioned it on a running website the majority went that she should 'man up,about the abuse' oh the irony.

Amazing that these guys when the ladies are running with a club, are suddenly quiet.

I got a “nice bum” comment from a couple of ladies as I ran past them, they assumed I couldn’t hear as I had headphones in but they were flat!

I made my day

I ‘run’ in winter, much prefer it to running in heat.

Check out the Fab Crap Runners Club.
