Just went to reply to a couple who winked me but according to their profile 'aren't looking for single guys!' and got a lovely new message on screen advising me to 'think carefully'!!
Thanks for that FAB - without your advice I might very nearly have got in touch with someone showing interest in me! lol
On second thoughts.....oh sod it! Think i'll just message them and ignore the 'parental' advice! Could there not be a system in place that says 'Stop! Think! This couple is really a 69 yr old single guy called Derek!' ? |

"Well it worked. It made you think! "
It did - made me think there's a message i didn't really need to see! Didn't see any site messages advising of the update - wonder when else it crops up? Anyone else seen it? |

i'm excited about FAB adopting the 70's style public information announcements
i can see it now
'meet dave, he swims like a fish (but sorry ladies, it's dangerous for him not to come up for air)'
' says .... do not verify people you don't know'
i am also looking forward to the first green cross code avatar
but more than anything, i am looking forward to seeing ruggers and hpc in their tufty the squirrel outfits

Makes me laugh, the site owners but an advisory warning up, this is the second thread ive seen about it both from single guys. Its just giving you the option of thinking for a second before you think whether it is worth messagig these people.
I love single guys, i only really meet guys and i never moan about them but the only whinges ive seen about this new feature have been from single guys, if they cant take a moment to think, without coming on the forums then writing a thread about it that takes longer to compose than it does to get rid of the message and have the second thinking time what does it say about them |

Sorry! Wasn't a moan - just a personal observation! And if I'm 'duplicating' a previous thread - again - apologies, but although I'm popping in and out if the forums more often than I did - still don't have time to check every post! |

Just look at how many threads are started by people who say they have sent messages to people and recieved no reply. If you get no reply from the couple at least you know that you werent what they where looking for. At least you know before you send the message that you dont fit the critera, you choose to take pot luck, it might work for you |

Personally I couldn't give a monkeys about it. It does what it says on the tin, and I suppose its easier to notice than an age/status advisory on a profile.
I think therefore it may encourage more people not to bother reading profiles though because its so much easier, sort of like a failsafe if you will.
And we all know how much we love people who don't read profiles... |

I can see where you're coming from - but if you read my original post - they made the first move, not me! I was just curious to see how others had found it - and whether the same message crops up when couples who have set themselves up as not looking for single guys try and message us!! |

Glasgow - ish ;-) |
Same here, we had a wink from a couple. We try when possible to send a message of some sort in response, but today we got the "stop & Think" message. This couple are not looking for couples. So a dilema.. Do we just ignore the wink or send a message? I opted for the latter.
Said something like " We know you dont meet couples, but thanks for the wink and wish you luck in finding what your looking for in Fab" etc.. XxX MT |

I've had that & when I messaged them, they ignored me......they must have hit the wink button by mistake. I've done it before. |
