I know. I was concerned enough to go to the doctor's about it. Had a ECG and they said all was fine. It does seem low though.

In my mid forties my resting heart rate was 49 and I was told all the athlete stuff. Clearly I am not an athlete, and never have been. Even now it's only 55, and my BP has always been spot on. When I'm running it's in the low 140's. I'm not sure that it's that significant.

Same. Mines usually about 120-130 but has gone as high as 155 so they admitted me to hospital. I'm now on beta blockers which brings it down to about 88 give or take. They ideally wanted it lower but taking more beta blockers nakes my blood pressure too low and I get faint.

I also struggle with cardio excercise so I switched to weight training with a bit of HIIT as I feel sick if I do cardio too long and it makes me cough if my heart rate gets too high for too long haha.

Mines 67, had a genetic heart condition from birth but only discovered 4 years ago after some extreme bouts of angina, had stents fitted and on 7 different types of pills daily for the rest of my life.

Sounds grim when I write it down but after the initial shock and "it's not fair, why me" stage, its had a very positive effect on my life. I exercise more, watch what I eat and drink and am far more laid back, I don't get stressed or let stuff get on top of me.

I don't know what the figure was, but a few years ago I got sent to the walk-in centre from work because I was having some chest pain...

....on initial exam the walk-in centre called an ambulance to take me to A&E (only 400 yards away, but they wouldn't let me walk) because they were concerned my heart rate was low...

....A&E did a 12-lead ECG and declared everything was fine - no explanation given for the low heart rate, just told it was nothing to worry about...

....the pain was simply torn muscles!

Theyre pretty accurate theyre basicaly the same as rhe thing they clip on your finger in hospital.

But the accuracy is dependent on a good contact which is why fit bits which use thw same tech arnt as accurate as they are often a bit loose

when I was racing pushbikes seriously my resting was around 38. lowest I ever measured was 35. used it to scare a few docs, particularly when you get an e.c.g. as an enlarged thickened heart is not normally a good sign! but I knew guys with lower and higher resting, doesn't necessarily tally with being fast or elite. there is no prize for heart rate when lying in bed

he normal resting heart rate for adults over the age of 10 years, including older adults, is between 60 and 100 beats per minute (bpm). Highly trained athletes may have a resting heart rate below 60 bpm, sometimes reaching 40 bpm!

Strange reading this thread as so many claims but I shouldn't be surprised as so many guys on here also claim to be single when they are not and claim their 5 1/2 in cock is 11 inches.

Male reply. My heartrate is around 60 to 65 but apparently my heart beats the other way round. I don't remember now but I was helping someone at college many years ago designing a heart rate monitor and it didn't work on me so he hooked me up to an oscilloscope and told me what he saw and modified his circuit so it worked for me. Going back to the 80s with that story. Even phones now can take your pulse rate but he was using a clothes peg and an led and ldr circuit.
