Would you respect me?

Jump to: Newest in thread

By (user no longer on site) OP     over a year ago

For some people it’s very hard to hear the truth... So sometimes people lie to them in a effort to spare their fragile feelings....

I believe in earning people’s respect above everything in life...So I try to be as honest as possible with anyone I meet....

A friend of mine asked me tonight if it was okay to start dating a girl I used to hook up with over the summer....

I told him it’s fine and I wish him the best of luck....

He then asked me what she was like in bed....

I told him ..... I wasn’t really attracted to her , I didn’t like to kiss her , I found her body repulsive, I could only have sex with her if I was d*unk , But I did love her vagina.....

So I basically told him the woman he is going to build a relationship with , only good and redeeming quality is her vagina....

Now would you respect me for telling the truth or would you think I was only saying this because of sour grapes......

It would depend on if you actually were telling the truth to be fair.

But at the same time you kinda lose respect for being so desperate to be shagging somone you found repulsive.

So i dunno neutral?

But part of me thinks this may well be an episode of "shit that never happened"

I’m not sure why you would tell a mate what the lady was like in bed. I would lose respect at that point.

Erm

Yes to honesty. I can take that so much easier as I’m slightly autistic and people not telling the truth confuses me.

However- we have to be subtle and tactful sometimes... this could be the future missus you’re blaspheming...

How do you know if I'm attractive?

My options are - I will only have sex with someone I fancy and feel the mutual attraction is present. Being horny never made me do anything I wouldn't be happy with. Perhaps I'm different.

If someone has sex with a person they find their body repulsive and only do it because they're d*unk and horny, I wouldn't go near them. Talking about respect for self and the others.

Animals have sex where they don't need another option. Humans can choose.

North west ish

I suppose it depends on what your real reasons are for being that brutally honest with your friend. Anybody with any emotional intelligence would know how disrespectful and bitter it comes across towards the lady. Are you frightened of losing your friend that you felt like you had to sabbotage the start of a new relationship? You sound deeply unhappy to fuck someone you found so repulsive.

Does it sound like sourgrapes? Maybe. Let's hope your friend has found something special. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

It becomes kinda creepy.... so ghosting and blocking is the only answer....

You see- I agree with you that you don’t want people to follow you etc

And blocking may be the answer...

But not ghosting.

That says more about your lack of confidence in yourself being ‘honest’ and being able to clearly explain your thoughts in an articulate and mature manner.

Mrs P"

Honesty can come off as rudeness sometimes and in a situation like this... I’d rather be remembered as a coward than a rude person....

"I suppose it depends on what your real reasons are for being that brutally honest with your friend.

Honestly, if I told him she was very kinky in bed and all the graphic details of our bedroom antics.... would I still come off as bitter? Would he maybe question his new relationship?

There is always two sides to a coin....

Op whilst I like to think I wouldn't find myself in your situation of having sex with someone I didn't find attractive, it does happen. Assuming this is true, it's his fault for asking what she's like in bed. That automatically shows that he only sees her as a sex partner, a shag. No way in hell would I ask someone what a woman is like in bed because I only care about what she's like in bed with ME, and I'll do my own groundwork of building that relationship or arrangement with her. Your mate probably gets off on hearing about your sexual encounters and seeing that he's pursuing your previous partner, he probably finds it easier having a third party or triangulating to make new connections because he's too insecure to do it on his own. The fact that you've been with this lady and he's your friend legitimises the connection in some way. Just seems weird if a relationship is what he wants. I doubt it.

"Erm

Yes to honesty. I can take that so much easier as I’m slightly autistic and people not telling the truth confuses me.

However- we have to be subtle and tactful sometimes... this could be the future missus you’re blaspheming...

No that ship has sailed... I ghosted her around August... she has been blocked on my phone and all social media since then...

Please tell me you at least politely ended things with her?

Everyone has the right to chose to date/ have sex etc with whomever they want and to end it for whatever you want

However- it’s human decency to clearly end the relationship

Mrs P x

Honestly I don’t like to lie to people and say let’s be friends... it’s much better to ghost and not have to deal with awkward conversations in the future.....

If you ghost someone.... in their minds they can feel like you’re dead.... so they actually feel better about themselves...

I’m baffled. Confused. Bafffled and confused?!

Why would you lie and say you want to be friends?

You can still be truthfully without being so blunt, by just saying she wasn’t your type and not going into any detail, that’s why we have filters, we don’t say everything we think and with good reason.

People who say, they say how it is, think it’s a badge of honour or something, it isn’t, showing respect for other people’s feelings is.

Just because someone asks a question doesn't mean you have to answer.

You could've told him to find out for himself, that's not being dishonest.

Me and my best friend had sex with the same guy at two separate occasions and swapped notes. My experience with him was a great one whilst hers was disappointing.

Attraction and sexual chemistry plays a huge role in this and whilst this girl wasn't for you she might be for him.

I wouldn't think less of you for being honest, your views are your own and he may think differently.

In some cases, people use telling 'the truth' as a way to be edgy or provocative.

Being diplomatic with the truth is better imo.

I think she deserves better than both of you. If she stole your money and shat in your bed then yeah, I'd warn him about her.

For him to ask about her prowess in bed and you to be so derogatory...and you seem quite proud of being a nasty piece of work and the any hole a goal type, "respect" is not a word I'd associate with you.

If he's intelligent he should know that because you weren't attracted to her you wouldn't have found the sex to be the most fulfilling, as you were only looking to put your dick in someone.

"Assuming this is true, it's his fault for asking what she's like in bed. I doubt it.

High Five... you get it...

Don’t ask a question if you might not like the answer...."

Yeah, mind you, I'm not condoning your response to him, I'm just saying that I don't believe his line of questioning is coming from the right place. He's your mate so I get that you can have whatever private conversation with him that you like so no comment there. Me personally, I would have advised him that it might not be wise to begin where I left off with her and I would have mentored him on his confidence and self-referral. That's assuming he wants a relationship. His question is borderline objectifying in my opinion. It's just not my style to discuss what happens my harem unless we've been there together to high-five as it's all going down.

I don't think your friend should have asked that follow up question and I don't think you should have replied that way.

Furthermore your responses in this thread regarding the lady of interest is appalling. The way you view her and women in fact is terrible. You've essentially reduced her down to an object, a play thing, something that isn't even of much use to you aside from her vagina.

To say:

"Because sometimes you want a steak but only a hot dog is available....

If you’re hungry, you have to eat...."

Well now that is a rather crass comparison

I really hope not a lot of men have this "any hole is a goal" mentality but I know that isn't the case... really sad

I made this thread after watching the movie bird box. It gave me inspiration to make this forum a better place.....and show people the error of their ways.. call me the Diogenes of Fab...

Whenever the subject of bi men comes up on any thread..... these comments are always posted

“ I’m not attracted to men , I don’t want to kiss a man , I don’t want a relationship with a man , I JUST WANT HIS COCK “

“ I would never meet a man alone , and I don’t play with men unless a female is involved “

“ I met a couple and the husband started sucking me in the heat of the moment, and I went with it “

“ Labels shouldn’t matter, IF IT FEELS GOOD , JUST ENJOY IT “

Now in this thread I’ve been called desperate, and a few other things ...

by stating that I only liked this woman for her vagina and nothing else?

Why do bi men on Fab get a free pass for stating the exact same things I said about this woman?

Is this how all of you subconsciously feel about bi men? But are afraid to post it...

Because they are talking about men and not women. Men can handle being used.

It's never OK to use a woman.

I can't anyway, I have to like a woman in numerous ways to want to have sex with them. A good vagina alone would not suffice.

Agree. I wouldn't respect you for disrespecting someone else / telling the truth and neither would I think it was sour grapes. You are entitled to your opinion, but that doesn't mean it has to be voiced. I would use the phrase 'repulsive' to describe someone's attitude or actions that I felt to abhorrent, but that's me. I think my response to a mate asking what a girl is like in bed that I’d fucked, would be he needs to find out himself. Tact is sometimes better than being blunt.

I notice you’re American, remember us brits are generally more reserved, so asking opinions on a prodominantly uk site ,will get different answers than you’d get on a USA site.

I dated an American girl for a while, and she had zero tact.

Respect and honesty are two things which can often be confused.

If you want or need respect then you have to earn it through your actions and words.

Being honest is vital but you can be honest by showing respect.

Now if I was in that situation my reply would be the following:-

"Out of respect for a lady who I may or may not like I refuse to answer your question. If you like her then why not learn her like I had to".

To divulge bedroom information is in my books totally and completely wrong showing a lack of respect so why the hell do you expect respect.

YOU WERE WRONG BADLY WRONG AND SHOULD APPOLIGISE.

You didn't actually answer his question though did you, or give him the kind of information that he was presumably seeking (such as her skills, kinks). All you told him is that you personally were not turned on by her. This is a subjective judgement and not of much 'use' to him.

Definitely sour grapes.

The things that you told him would not make me think badly of the person that I was about to date (and why would it?), but it would make me question my friend's judgement and their respect for others

You could have answered the question with tact & discretion , instead of slaughtering the woman. A simple ‘ She was just a hookup, not really the type I’m attracted to ‘

That way ,You don’t come across as sour grapes , and a pig being derogatory about another human being that’s done you no harm. It also wouldn’t have put the friendship in an awkward position, if your friend really winds up liking the woman and in a relationship.

Instead you’ve come across as an immature frat boy, passing his leavings on .

You had no respect for her by sounds if it if you were happy to use her for sex whilst finding her repulsive

So, no I would loose any respect I had for someone who would say something like that about anyone I'm afraid.

You can be honest and still be tactful.

But part of me thinks this may well be an episode of "shit that never happened"

Interesting...... so you never had sex with someone you were not attracted too....

I’m basically saying I had sex with someone ugly...."

No, sorry. I have to be attracted to someone to want to sleep with them. It’s never just about the act for me. Not judging others but you asked for opinions.

Personally I wouldn’t have been quite so honest with your mate. Firstly, for me, it’s admitting I’d not got standards I’d adhere to. And secondly, perhaps by saying something like, “I’m not with her now, it’s not fair to comment as everyone likes different things. Make your own mind up when you get there.” might have been more tactful.

Hey...I’m single, so what do I know about it!?

Op I think it was crule to slag her off in that way. Why did you have to be so harsh about the women surely she don't deserve to be talked about in such a manner. Saying her body repulsed you?

I'm a very honest person but I would not try to embarrass or belittle someone I have played with.

You come across as either immature or maybe a little jealous!!!!

I think there's a big difference in what you've said about this woman, what you've called her to a guy who only meets other men because they have a penis.

You've shown no respect whatsoever to this woman (whether she exists or not),the men who don't fancy other men say that would never kiss each other men,but enjoy oral probably have more respect for each other than you are showing for her. Respect goes a long way.

Yes unfortunately because why would you have sex with someone you’re not attracted to and why give the information away so readily? Just my take on it.

So will I, but I will try to do it in a way that's kind. It would've been much kinder to both to just say something non-specific like 'She was not really what I was looking for...' or similar.

OP whether this was a "social experiment" or a truthful account I don't think that makes you come out on top either way.

A "social experiment"? To what? Teach us ALL a lesson? Or rather to back track as the thread did not go the way you expected?

If you wanted to get a rise out of people who disagree with your original post and your views up until the point you said it was all "fake", you did that for sure. I don't think most people would appreciate women being reduced down to a vagina, nor think a man had respect for himself for having sex with a women solely for that reason.

Regarding Bi men not everyone thinks like that and again the offending party is a man, not all Men but it is a man.

So "flipping the table" isn't really what you've done here.

"For some people it’s very hard to hear the truth...

Now would you respect me for telling the truth or would you think I was only saying this because of sour grapes......"

For someone who "Believes in earning people's respect" Is of importance to him. You've an interesting way of earning it. I'd have more respect for someone who was politely honest about not finding me attractive. Than being dehumanized by a complete troll.

If it helps, I've about as much respect for your mate, who felt like he needed to ask.

I really don't understand the correlation between bi men and the OP initial post.

Yes some bi men don't wish to do anything other than interact with the genitals of other bi/gay /straight men but I've never seen any men slate other men in the same way you did the woman in your initial post?

Yes they may not be attracted to the whole entity but I haven't seen any outright insults and derision.
