I'm going to a party in May (hopefully), it will be my first one and I wasn't sure of the 'etiquette' ... is it ok to ask who's going?
I would like to know as I'm going as a single |

i host partys on a reguler basis i am always being asked who is attending
i do not let anyone know reason being
would you like me to let all n sundrey you areattending a private party ?
its not discreet to tell others who is attending
and if anyone turns up and dont like what they see well they can bugger off !
as it is ive never encountered any problems but i have come to also realise that the one who ask who dont get told never seem to come ! timewasters n picture collectors comes to mind
take my advice
build it and they will come lol
ie advertise but dont inform anyone who is coming other than a general 3 couples 2 females and 5 guys etc |

When I was on here as a couple we went to a party and our neighbours turned up. Not exactly next door neighbours but they were from just around the corner. The ex was mortified. To make things worse they had got the train up and I'd drove so I thought it only polite to offer them a lift home, the ex wasn't keen but I eventually made her see sense. We were all there for the same reason after all.

I only go to house parties which have an 'attending' list. But then again I don't go to parties with open invites posted on forums for every man and his dog to turn up to.
I want to know if there's a chance there will be people there who I am happy to play with and vice versa. Not all hosts are good and choosing to invite people with a good match preference wise.
To me, a private list of who's going is not the same as a list of who fucked who, who did what or a post stating "guess who I'm shagging now".

So the obvious thought of... they weren't told so they chose not to go totally escapes you.

Once you have a confirmed list of people I dont see any harm in sharing it as it gives peep a chance to chat a little before hand and I cant see anyone having any privacy issues as only the people who are going anyway are going to get this list x |

Yes it is OK. For all you know it could be one couple in their 60's and 14 single guys. |

thats what i was getting at thank you i invite a group of people that i hope will get on ,never a open list i find that if you have a set preference list you look for just that type party goes so well |

We wouldn't fancy going to a private house party without seeing a list first.
Its nice to know there's a good chance of compatibility with others attending.
