It is a commonly held belief that there is a North south divide. Usually its claimed that northerners are friendlier.sexier, harder working, more resilient and honest than southerners.
I don't agree with that but nothing seems to change the mind of the people that hold that opinion.

my last boyfriend and partner now are both southerners. I find southeners more gentlemanly and northerners more rough and ready. A friend of mine is married to someone from newcastle. We are both from the north but live in the south. One of us would happily go back the other never.
Seems like putting people into groups (north vs south, brexit vs remain etc etc) never gives a positive outcome

I'm from yorkshire and the wife is from Newcastle. I have to admit that when i go further north the men tend to prick there ears up when i speak and it often feels slightly confrontational. The women though tend to just be fascinated with different accents.
That being said both the Mrs and i have realised over the years travelling around that there is only so many faces, bodies and personalitys to go round, it's just the voices that change. |

I found there are pockets of decent and arsey folks all over. I have from personal experience found pockets in the North instantly hostile simply from me having a Kentish accent.... And I note it's mostly northerners who keep bringing up the North, South divide..
I actually couldn't care less where anyone is from. I take people at face value. |

I have lived all over the course try. I originally great up in the south west.
Personally I have found outgoing fun loving people where ever I go. I think alot is how you as an individual interact with people.
There are idiots and asses up and down the country and the same with fun loving people.
