I have cannot accommodate on my profile as I have my son living with me. If someone has can accommodate but they mean in a hotel surely that means they cannot accommodate? I thought the accommodate bit was for one's home?

In this case they had, I just thought the accommodate bit was for accommodating at ones home which is why I was confused.
Sometimes though people say they cannot accommodate on their profile but don't say why so then I ask, unless they say in a message why they can't  |

We would perceive the Can or Cannot Accommodate to mean someone's Home..
Although we can Accommodate its tricky what with Jayne's 18 yo Son living here also... but there isnt an option for Can Accommodate "Sometimes with Prior Warning"

We can accommodate but it takes a little planning although it's certainly possible, always happy to travel or share hotel costs."

Thats how I read it, and I suspect thats how the site intends it to be used, otherwise anyone could put 'can accommodate' and say later that a car seat or derelict building is technically accommodation.
One of my bugbears is people putting 'can accommodate' when they can't. It means I have to check and it's just wasted messages in my opinion. |

Some people see "Can accomodate" as an overnight stay, some will see it as "come to ours", some will see it as "prividing a place to play" and by their perception, that could mean, in the car, down the alley, or grassy knoll

Lol @ Jack.
I've always understood it to mean people are offering their own homes to play. I never think about whether it means overnight, we wouldn't do that anyway. I also assume that's what the site intends it to mean.
We don't accommodate. We are mainly club or party attenders anyway, we don't meet that many people on a one on one basis. If we do decide to meet someone then we are happy to travel or meet halfway and share hotel etc. |

bein able to accomadate for fun, and able to get accomadation in a hotel is totally different,as is car, if someone says they accom to us and most sensible people with a brain would see that as having their own place, anything less is just being decietfull and a bullshit excuse to not understanding a simple status, accom cant accom, if it meant hotel everyone could put accom  |

Ditto. We probably could accommodate more but with 2 teenagers around it isn't worth the risk or hassle.
We've got no problem sharing hotel costs with couples in a similar situation.
Our profile says we can't accommodate & we explain why - it's part of the icebreaker chat & good manners.
If we saw "can accommodate" on a profile we'd initially think it meant in their home.

I am of the same opinion of "can accomodate" means in your own home. Therefore "cannot accomodate" means hotel, your place or wherever but not the home. I have "can accomodate" and have a 19 yr old daughter who lives with me, any meets would be arranged for when she is at work/out/away and have meetings planned on my profile. I feel in my situation that is better than putting "cannot accomodate" with the caveat of when the daughter is out I can accomodate. Some others may think differently. |

Maybe its different with men then as for me a single female, I would rather have cannot accommodate that way its stops anyone thinking I will let them come round plus the weirdo's. I can like you accommodate during the day as he works full time but I just think cannot accommodate is better for me anyway, each to his own |
