Hi all happy new year, just a question. How far is everyone willing to travel for a meet, just because ,don’t really know how far to put into a search when looking for fun.

How far have people travelled ?

Take care

a quandary, could you change my mind?

It's not really about how far others will travel to you, its about how far you are willing to travel.

For me distance doesn't matter, time is often the enemy. Planes, trains and automobiles in no particular order, if its right to travel.

Fair comment, we would travel a hour away I think within reason, it was more a question regarding distance for meets.

"16.5 yards maximum."

Or 15.0876 metres, whichever is the furthest.

Being serious I don't think it's distance as much time. Depending on the journey 15 miles can take far longer then 40 miles. I always search up to 40 miles as typically you should be within about an hour at that distance which send sensible enough. That said, I think fab works as the crow flies because I've noticed people pop up in searches that are much further away so perhaps trim it down to 20 or 30 miles?

Totally agree, we do 40 miles as Manchester and Liverpool are just over a hour away, and Blackpool has quite a small scene out of the season

It's highly unlikely I'd meet someone who lived over an hour away and if so, I'd have to have chatted for a while to feel comfortable enough that the distance would be worth it.

When I was much younger I travelled a couple of hours for a weekend and was...disappointed with the guy when I got there. Text and video chat etc make it easier I think but still, I'd want to be as sure as you can.

Does getting off the sofa constitute travel now?

Max one hour, sometimes it's worth it

Mostly I wouldn’t travel more than 90 mins and prefer about a hour. However it would depend on who, what, where, when and why, and how I was travelling.

Unless I've met a person where I previously lived (I lived up north and south east) I really don't want to travel so I stick to people who are local.

I guess I'm wary and a little bit nervous if I meet someone I've never met before and it doesn't go well. Also I factor in with stuff like this that alot of people are just in it for the pics and chats, I've arrange stuff previously and they cancelled when I had hotels waiting or they go silent on me.

If it's for a club or a party then I travel quite far but then make a weekend of it. Get hotel bit of sightseeing maybe.

But for a one-to-one meat then I'd stay local.

I used to travel great distances but soon learnt that a lot dont turn up so its time for me,about half an hour then if they don't show or the suggested place surprisingly doesn't exist then its not too much time lost

For meeting new people then 50 miles to an hour is our maximum unless we happen to be in an area. If they are friends that we have met and get on with then we will travel as far as is necessary.

Not at all lol. If a meet was right would prob drive a hour to a hour and a half. I think the problem with long distant meet is the chance of a no show etc. And there’s a lot of time wasters on this sight now. Such a shame really
