One of the most things we need to think about while swinging should be health.

As we all should know there are many health risks to swinging, and I believe it is the duty of sites like this to hightlight the dangers as well as the pleasure of the lifestyle.

So would it not be responsible to have a section on sexually health?

Errrrrrrrrrrm this is an adult site is not n there for as adults we should already know about sexual health.

Why should this site or any other site like this have that responsiblity,if you dnt know yourself then you shouldnt be on a site like this

Lots of people shouldn't be behind the wheel of a car but they still drive.

Its never a bad idea too educate people on this issue, while refraining from scare mongering them at the same time.

You have warnings of cigarette, alcohol, bleach even toys. You have H&S advice at work, in school even in hospitals. You could say that we should all know the risks before we do anything. Knowledge is power, is why not have the information available ..

I personally think there is too much health and safety advice as it is. We are in danger of future generations being unable to think for themselves.

I'm firmly of the belief that we should remove all instructions and see who survives!!

H & S advise is a legal requirement in places of work. So is warnings on cigarette packets.

All fab should do is to provide a link to the NHS sexual advice section.. job done.

I am not advocating warnings all over the site. I not evening saying I want rules about what people should or should not do. What I am suggesting is that it would be responisble for the site to have a section on Sexually Health. I am afraid sexual health is a major part of swinging, just as clubs, dogging and events are.

Yes people should already know the dangers. But the truth is a lot of people still don't or feel that swinging is safer in someway.

How can a sexual health section which might just stop someone getting a STI or simular be a bad thing?

Noone would force anyone to read it. It would not stop any of the features the already exist on the site. It would be there to give information on an important topic that is valid to all swingers to these who would like to read it.

Think it would be a novel approach to include a section on sexual health for the sexually uneducated.

However there is much in the way of information already out there, and it would not be right for FAB to teach others as they "could" give wrong information or be blamed for inaccurate information etc.

All FAB should do is provide a section of links to official authorised sites dealing with sexual health and sexual education.

This could be a way of doing it As long as it brings up the subject of Sexual health in someway.

I am not suggesting FAB writes all its own information on the subject, not saying it needs to employ its own sexual health advisor. What I am saying is Sexual Health is very important and it would be wrong for a swinging site to just ignore this one very important part of swinging..

However, this study has been criticized as not being representative of swinger populations as a whole: its data was formulated solely on patients receiving treatment at an STD clinic. In addition, according to the conclusions of the report the STD rates of swingers were in fact nearly identical to those of non-swinging straight couples, and concluded that the safest demographic for STD infection were female prostitutes. According to the Dutch study, "the combined rates of chlamydia and gonorrhea were just over 10 percent among straight people, 14 percent among gay men, just under 5 percent in female prostitutes, and 10.4 percent among swingers, they found."

The OP linked to a dutch research which states that swingers are in the same risk category as prostitutes and gays. I called this a fallacy as the research made the mistake of 'hasty generalization' or 'converse fallacy'.

Without knowledge of the attitudes of dutch swingers in the over 45 age bracket it doesnt tell us much either.

So if swinging sites should carry a warning about sexual health should pubs and clubs carry one about going home with a one night stand picked up on a weekend night.

The site is simply a way of communicating, not a "How To" guide to swinging, and it should stay that way.

If people want advice there are plenty of places to go - bit unfair to expect Fabs to come up with their own!

No ... because the purpose of a pub and club, it all happens to happen there now and again. On a Swinging Site that is the main purpose, its purpose is to allow people to met other people for sexual encounters. Sexual encounters have sexual health risks..

I just do what Admin say, I removed three links from three posts that at the moment are not allowed.

This is a thread that anyone can post to to see if Admin will add more allowed links.
