"Looking at new pics and notice on some of the more graphic one's that the odd one or two could do with a dose of antibiotics! Would it be appropriate to pm them?"
I'm glad it's not just me this has occurred to! |

Do you think they'd take notice if you did?
I can't imagine many people reacting well to a "you look as if you have a sti" message.
If you feel you need to then go ahead, personally I'd leave it. |

If you're happy to open yourself up to abuse it might be kind. If not, blocking is probably the answer. |

Interesting, I've never come across any I could recognise.
In your place I would message them. They probably don't even know. |

If you're talking about vaginal discharge it changes through out the monthly cycle
It's different for everyone how their cycle is. Google what's normal
Also don't forget lubes also I have several from silky opaque to clear and jelly like
Can't assume they have an infection because it looks different |

I have added someone with pics like that to my hotlist, just so I can block anyone that plays with them. They posted one, very obvious pic of genital warts, about a week before having a gb too. Makes me think that not everyone cares if they get something, or pass something on |

No, mind your own business I'd say. Isn't it a bit like messaging over/underweight people and giving dietary advice? It wouldn't even occur to me, I just don't look at a profile again if I don't like what I see. |

Maybe the site should have a certified Dr as an admin, and part of the t&c's should state if the doctor spots something iffy, he will pm you. But thank God the web doesn't come with smelly vision, seen some horrifically infected genitalia on here! |

As unappealing as some of the more graphic genital shots are you simply cannot diagnose an STI by a picture. The genitals are sebaceous and as such can also get skin tags, spots, boils etc, some of which leave scars.
If a pic has anything you don’t like the look of just block them.
It’s a bit rich to diagnose an STI then mail them to inform them of your diagnosis |

Being over/underweight isn't going to potentially put someone else's health at risk though is it? |

Excuse me , I saw your profile pictures. And out of concern for the swinging community, please get yourself checked out at the local Sti clinic immediately... you have warts around your vagina and a creamy discharge can be seen in your pics... thank you and have a Merry Christmas....

Exactly. Can't we all be adults for once?
No one is going to diagnose anyone online with certainty, but some of this stuff isn't rocket science and easily detectable by those in the know... And surely a word of caution to get it checked is surely not offensive? It's not like your boss walks to you and tells you so in front of everyone at work - this is an anonymous online forum for chrissake! |

So you can diagnose that someone has an std?
I can imagine someone messaging me telling me I have one.
I have folliculomas and Fordyce spots. I suffer ingrown hairs as well as the tumours.
To think then if people would going round gossiping telling people I have an std when it's not the case for which I get tested regularly because I'm responsible even though I use condoms I'd be upset to say the least.
Not to mention I scar easily and have vaginal and anal scarring I already have a complex about my body
Add on the the finger nail scars I've had from people who don't file their nails and cuts from jewellery because they think finger blasting a vagina is a good idea because they've seen it in porn
I try to point these out in photos to people scars don't show well in photos
So hopefully it's not a shock when I meet them
But if you want to judge from a picture something that could be something else and spread that rumour and gossip feel free
Destroy a person ruin their confidence which will set off a chain of events. But you'll be happy you won't care you'll sleep at night
Not giving a shit how much you destroy a person because you won't see the end result of it
At this time of year suicides are at its peak. Imagine destroying their life over something as innocent as shavers rash or other nontransmitable issues.

How fatalistic.
No one is advocating gossiping to anyone, just telling the person directly... Precisely to tackle the problem head on, rather than letting rumours be created. You can politely decline or ignore that message - just like I'm sure you'll have to do with unrelated messages if you're inundated. |

it starts with this. then all the people who are married and not declaring this on profiles are the next target and so on.
i understand people wishing to help and message the person in question but they may return with a fuck off or mind your own business, then what?

Have you not seen the increase in posts regarding depression and lack of self esteem and confidence
People's loneliness and them reaching out.
Yet people think that their words have no impact on others, snide and totally unnecessary comments about what a person looks like, don't like it don't look simple.
How wrong you are to think you're entitled to tell people your opinion of their body
Don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all.
In regards to pointing out safe sex, not many have the knowledge or believe myths like having a cut cock no foreskin means you won't get stds, sharing the knowledge to hopefully encourage them how to be responsible is not the same as telling them you think someone has an std

"out of interest exactly which infections treatable with antibiotics are able to be diagnosed by photograph? "
Personally I think it is no different to the generic body shaming and bullying we see every day
Every body, every genital and every body function is different - who is anyone to judge or make assumptions about how someone looks or how their body works?
I would be mortified if someone sent me that message no matter how well they dressed it up
People end up doing drastic things for far less
If it's not affecting you personally leave well alone

"If you're talking about vaginal discharge it changes through out the monthly cycle
It's different for everyone how their cycle is. Google what's normal
Also don't forget lubes also I have several from silky opaque to clear and jelly like
Can't assume they have an infection because it looks different"

Wow did that get heavy in no time at all..leaping from should I try to help or keep shtum to you'll provoke suicides in that glorious over-reaching and over-reacting arc that is usually the path on these posts.
Can we lighten it up a bit people, it is Christmas after all?
Here's my bit: Can we stop calling it an STD! As an engineer from the older generation the first translation that leaps into my head is "Subscriber Trunk Dialling".
Ex-GPO types on here will know what that was. |

"I can't speak for others, but I'd probably appreciate a kindly worded "hey, you might want to get that checked out"
So we should all look at profiles and give unsolicited advice to strangers about their sexual health.....
Ok I got you.....
I’ll start politely messaging every women and couple I deem overweight to get to the doctors and check their BMI and cholesterol levels because I don’t want them to have a heart attack or stroke while having sex....
That’s the adult thing to do...
Thank you

You're just trolling now. STIs can be undetected by the person who has them, can be transmitted to other Fab members, and can usually be cured by proper medical attention. This is clearly very different to the scenario you've come up with above. |

Personally I wouldn't contact the person in question because I'm not medically qualified to diagnose anything. If I had concerns I would just avoid the person. |

Personally, I have zero clue how anyone, bar potentially a trained sexual health nurse, could possibly diagnose an STD from a photo. I have an ingrown hair on my fanny, which has caused a bump. This, in turn, has made me too self conscious to even show in my friends pics. Apparently, from this thread, I was correct to do so as there is an army of well-meaning do-gooders just waiting in that wings to pounce on me and tell me I have an STI.
Cheers guys, I was already self conscious about this. Thanks for inflating it to a full grown paranoia. |

The fact you have asked the question shows you have concerns for the persons in question , you don’t need the opinion of others do what makes you feel comfortable and what you thinks right , it’s always going to be subjective , but as a community why shouldn’t we look out for each other . |

Please fine Sir ... If you would like to intelligently converse with me... please address me with a civil tongue.....
Now you might not see the point I was trying make about being a adult in your rush to try to get some sex.....
When on a site looking to meet others.... who am I to email someone unsolicitedly to give them advice on something I found distasteful about their pictures....
So in turn I decided to call the people out that believe this behavior is ok......
If you find this behavior appropriate... I will respect you for your opinion... If I don’t , all I ask is for you to respect my opinion....
Merry Christmas |

If the STI is undetectable to the person who has it how are you going to detect it from a picture?
I have no idea which pics this thread is about but if it's someone oozing gonorreah pus or has visible sores or warts then it's not "undetectable" to them.
Any way on topic and less bitchy.
Std testing kits can be ordered from.the website of your local (or not local for the paranoid) clinic these are completed at home and posted bsck your results will arrive in a couple of weeks.
Handy for anyone who's not sure, doesn't want to waste an appointment (seriously who designed gum clinic opening hours) or is a bit shy.
Same for your treatment once you have you're results something like lloyds or Superdrug online doctor can have your perscription done by online form and either posted to you or you can pick it up from your local pharmacy.
It's all quite convinent Now days, every three months* have your kit delivered and send it off and have some peace of mind.
*maybe shorter depending on your life |

"I've done a thread about someone on this site who has herpes and amazing how popular she is.
Shocking. "
Indeed you'd think he'd be banned for spreading rumours like that.
Are threads accusing other members of having STD's ok now then?

Reading through this thread has made me
You do realise even a Dr wouldnt diagnose a sti without strong lab evidence to back it up so the fact that non medical fabber are diagnosing via a photo makes me highly amused.
Hsv a Dr would only diagnose via doing a swab at the time a infection is present. - the infection needs to be present to test for the virus accurately
Most people who worry about genital warts actually have just skin tags
Syphilis shows a sore usually.
Hiv doesn't usually show symptoms
Chlamydia rarely shows symptoms and even when it does it can be mistaken for thrush
gonorrhoea sometimes show symptoms, men will often get a yellow/green discharge but again many don't get symptoms
The other one that clinics don't test for (unless symptomatic) but is often seen during smear tests is trichomonas and again it often doesn't show symptoms or shows a frothy discharge. Or again itching the same as thrush.
It just interests me the amount of wannabe drs on fab. And no I won't disclose in a public forum why I have so much information but I can assure you it's not because I have anything
The best you can do for your own sexual health is take care of yourself. If having casual sex have 3 monthly testing and make sure that you request oral swabs too. 3 monthly is ideal because although most bloods can be obtained after a month incubation periods are up to 3 months so it's a waste of resources to have more. |

Where's the abuse?
I'd suggest you look up the term before throwing it around like confetti.
A differing opinion is not abuse. |
