Hi all I hope everybody is gearing up for a great Xmas period.
After taking time to read profiles here, I wonder how those who travel the length and breadth of the country fare when it comes to meeting people from different areas.
Many say that they prefer not to hear from people who are just passing through the area. I have enjoyed a few meets (not many) whilst working away. Do others find it difficult to arrange meets whilst working or travelling away?
By the way I’ve not been forecast to work away any time soon, so have no ulterior motive when asking. I’m just interested to know! |

The reason I’ve put that on my single Profile in the past is because if the meet is amazing I’d probably want to repeat it again and if they are not local, well it’s not going to happen.

It's generally a no from me. There's more pressure/ expectation that things will progress quickly, very little prelude in chat beforehand. Often an expectation that I'll drop everything because how could I possibly resist?
I reserve the right to make an exception, but so far "I'm staying in the XYZ in Manchester" messages get deleted pretty quickly. |

Here occasionally, but mostly somewhere else |

I've had that kind of response many times, and it often *seems* to me that any pressure is self-perceived.
But then, I would say that, wouldn't I! |

Perhaps. I have a higher proportion of quick second (angry/ arguing) messages after deletion from hotel stays, than other kinds. |

I work in London from time to time.
If I know I'm going I'll change my location a few weeks before and get chatting. To be fair it's mostly socials and some company while I'm in a hotel. If anything more comes of it great, if not then no bother.
The I'm in a hotel now meet posts are just a bit desperate really. |
