Hidden Profiles

This site is for swinging, yes we know there are the pervs and false profiles, but why hide your details, I mean just don't put on any pics at all, have a basic area where you are and what you want and leave it like that. Have I got this wrong in thinking this way,I know single/married women and men have to consider their safety if playing alone, I and everybody else knows and accepts that, but why are they on the site if nobody can get an idea of what they want, maybe there should be a Hidden Profile site , now that would be interesting. I am not intending to upset anyone by the way, I am genuinely interested in peoples thoughts, if any of course. I dont see the point of being on a site advertising the fact you want to swing, you could be anyone. |

I hide my profile sometimes if meets aren't feasible for a while
But I don't message people unless they message me when hidden
Iv had people actively messaging me with a hidden profile I do find that odd |

I have often wondered about that but came to the conclusion that maybe they were taking a break or were going through a difficult patch and wanted to lay low for a while to stop message pouring in.
I may be completely wrong but it's their profile so I guess they have a good reason, |

We hide our profile when we are on a break. Many delete their profiles when taking a break but we don't want to lose contact with friends or lose our verifications and have to start again.
Everybody has different reasons for being on here, it is up to them how they use the site. If there profile is hidden then don't meet them. |

The OP is complaining about how others ch9ose to run their profile. There literally nothing useful that can be contributed other than to day it's their choice and you either deal with it or move on |

Didn't realise this was possible as fairly new, but sounds feasible. Up until now I just thought it was odd. I'm learning all the time. |

Hi guys
Sometimes we hide our profile because we want a break from the lifestyle, either for a week, month or longer.
It means our fab friends can still message us but it prevents the many other messages from arriving.
Also whilst we are on a break, we don’t really want to be seen.
We are aware that having your profile hidden can be abused but I image the majority use this facility for genuine reasons

I often hide my profile if I'm busy with more important non-Fab stuff (Kids, work family etc). It doesn't seem to bother most of my Fab Friend's. They just assume I'm taking a little break.
I do find it odd when a user who I've never spoken to messages me from a hidden profile. And tend to ignore and delete their messages

You're not 'advertising' yourself if you've hidden your profile. People do it for lots of reasons and it limits the interactions you can have with others on the site too. We won't have a chance to meet over March and April so will most like hide for a while but I rather enjoy chatting in the forums so will be about for that. Also, I don't want to have to upload pictures or chase people for verifications if we deleted instead.

It is simple. People can do as they wish as long as it is within the rules of the site. Others shouldn’t concern themselves with how others manage their profiles or how they use the site.

I totally understand people hiding their profile if they're taking a break or not meeting for a while. However I get a few messages from mainly guys and then when I go to look at their profile it is hidden and that's a major turn off for me so I just delete the message. If you are active and messaging and wanting to meet you should display your profile it's a simple as that. |

I hid my profile for a while when I was too busy to meet, when I was working abroad for a few months and when I was in hospital.

My single profile is hidden at the moment as I'm not using it, however, I regularly hide it when my 18yr old son comes to stay for the weekend, for all I know he could be on here and check who's near and boom, there's his mother.
I still message from it when he's here though

I'm guilty as charged I've been hidden for 6 months
For 6 years I went to clubs/parties so put meets up to connect with friends and new people going
6 months ago I decided to have a break from clubs and parties,my break has been very pleasurable as been meeting guys privately,that I know from meeting at these places
So I keep hidden to basically read updates and forums,and catch up with friends,it's nice and peaceful without randoms asking to meet,I like it being hidden,I'm still using this site to connect and meet people,the difference is I know them |

We have had to have your profile hidden for a while due to multiple attempts from someone local trying to out us as swingers because he thinks he knows us. Thankfully he doesn’t know us and has got us mixed up with someone else. He has set up multiple single and couples profiles to try contacting us. So we have just hidden our profile for what has been a year now. This is to protect us as we live in a small town and it isn’t fair for the couple who he thinks we are.
It has put us off swinging for a bit due to idiots like this as we don’t want everyone local to us knowing our business because we don’t play with people on our home patch. |

I often hide my profile for a variety reasons ... I'm not meeting, can't be arsed to receive messages off illiterate people with no manners, just chatting to people I already know, haven't got time or the inclination, taking a break ... and more but not sure why it's a problem?

I mean it's been a year? I doubt he'd be still on here trying to get at you? Why not change your location and your name. You don't have to put your postcode, just explain when people message you live else where.
I mean I just don't see the enjoyment of being on here if you're doing that because of one insignificant person. Change a few things up like name, location and pictures and he'll be none the wiser.
Anyway I find it a useful tool, I wish you wouldn't receive messages full stop if you hid but you still do. I generally use it when I get bored and want a break or if I get annoyed |

Thanks for taking the time to reply, I have had some great replies on here and privately and I can see why people do hide their profiles... makes a lot of sense, I just didn't see it initially, and I thought I would ask for opinions, but in my case I wouldn't hide my profile but thats what is great about the site you can or cant, as you said when people with no manners dont take no for an answer we block them. I do sometimes mail from mine when I’m hidden especially if I see someone who looks nice or I see someone is going to a club and i suggest meeting up.
If I do that I send some pictures and might Unhide briefly to let them see who I am.
Like I said. We all do it differently.

I think you are looking at it wrong: I doubt people with hidden profiles send meet messages! Mine is hidden as health issues mean I can't play at the moment.
I truly struggle to understand why people don't us the site how they want and allow others the same courtesy! |

We have done that once and we also closed our account from another similar site SH... and it involved sensitive issues that could have an effect on our ability to earn an income. He thinks he is being clever because we won’t meet him. But because we live in a low population area it does not take long to re find us to try and out us for living the lifestyle.. it just means we have to play and get involved with different ways of communication and by using clubs instead...
We have also unhidden our account on a couple of occasions keeping the privacy settings high only to have same problem. It has also got to the point where we have considered not using the net at all for this. |

It gets to a point when you just get sick of it.
It doesn't take much to read a profile but even that is too much for some ignorant twats  |
